Levels of Learning: Don't Quit! You Can Do It!
It's not too often that you will find something that you stick with for a very long time. You have to like what you're doing to stick with anything and really love something if it's for years. I've heard there are two reasons why people quit things, they either get bored of the task, because it's easy and/or too difficult. We quit things if things are too easy because it doesn't challenge our minds and we quit if it's too difficult because it's too frustrating to continue. I'm here to tell you to stick with whatever you're doing because it'll get better. In fact it can become really fun but you have to keep doing it for a long time. Here are the different levels of learning that I've experienced. They're just observations that me, my colleagues and friends have experienced.

Perseverance vs. Determination
What's the difference? Obviously, consistent and temporary are complete opposite terms. But, what's the difference between perseverance and determination? In technical terms, perseverance is considered "steadfastness in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success," and determination is considered "firm or fixed intention."

Challenge Yourself
Growing up, I had the worst self-esteem imaginable! I would always put myself down and allow others to put me down as well, not knowing that this was abusive. I just thought it was normal. When someone complimented me, I would argue with them and say that they were wrong. I'm not pretty, I'm not smart, I'm not anything nice they had to say. So many negatives running through my mind, always. My grandparents were the only adults in my life trying to combat all of the negative. I grew up to be an angry young adult. I couldn't feel truly happy because I thought that it would always go wrong. Then I became a mom and the negative thoughts skyrocketed! I didn't think I was doing anything right, thought I was a bad mom. The negative thoughts consumed me so badly that I attempted suicide. Not once, but twice, and thought about it much more than that. I finally sought help when I realized that in order to be happy, to allow myself to be happy, I needed to heal.

The War on Words
Human beings are funny creatures. It's said that most of our communication doesn't even happen through words, but body language. How does that apply when speaking to yourself though? What's the "body language" of your inner voice? Let's dive in, shall we?

Pain Is Preparing You for Your Destiny
Your mistakes from your past don't define you. They are not who you are. You are much greater than your mistakes. Just look at them as lessons that you should grow from. If you stay focused on all the mistakes you have made in your past, it will only hold you back from the greatness that is in your future. It is important to know that you are not the mistakes that you have done.

Being Alone Doesn't Mean You're Lonely
For years, I was just like any other middle schooler/high schooler. I had friends and a good base of support. That changed, though, sophomore year and my friends became my bullies. To this day, I have no clue as to why my whole friend group (as well as complete strangers) turned on me. They won't even give me or authorities involved in the matter a reasoning for their attacks on me and emotional abuse. This bullying continued until senior year, when I decided to completely isolate myself from everyone. I figured if I'm not close to anybody that nobody had the opportunity to hurt me. While that was true, it also gave me the opportunity to hurt myself without being aware of the fact that I was doing so.
