How to Get Into the Money Mindset
I grew up in relative poverty. After some unfortunate family occurrences, I was left to experience what poverty and the brink of homelessness were like. My teenage years and early young adulthood were spent enduring nothing but financial and emotional struggle. I felt stuck. I felt like I’d be poor, unfortunate, and hopeless for the rest of my life.

Why I Don't Give a Sh*t What People Think
So, you want to make a judgement of me. Okay. I used to be the girl that would stare at the floor when people looked at me. The slightest nasty comment would tear me to shreds. I'd hate myself for weeks. One day that all changed for me, not sure when, but it did. I look at things in a very different way these days, and it's the right way.

Service in Seattle
As I was growing up I constantly saw the commercials on TV about starving children, found food drives on every corner, or noticed that soup kitchens were desperately searching for volunteers. I knew that world hunger was a real issue and I felt genuine sympathy for those who were suffering, but I never thought too much about the importance of volunteer work because I was stuck in my fortunate and very comfortable lifestyle. There was always that fear of the unknown when I thought of volunteer work and I let those hesitations block my view of an ugly side of this world, as well as the opportunities I had to help.

10 Things I Learned After Quitting My Office Job as a Designer, Leaving My Life Behind, and Moving to Australia with My New Boyfriend
Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could quit your job, say f*ck this and literally throw things up in the air?! Who doesn't want to live a different life sometimes, or all the time? This is probably one thing most people think of doing, some even think about it constantly, but in the end don't actually do it. That's because this kind of action requires a whole lot of courage. It's not easy leaving your safe income, your home, your friends and family, your dog, your dance class, your favourite bar or even your favourite food behind. It's hard getting out of our comfort zone for a reason. We get attached. But why put up with certain things we are discontent about? Like a job, a marriage, a city, a whole country? No matter what the reason might be, we will always have the option to change things. In the end it's really up to you. You have the option to stay or leave. Yes, it is scary, things can go wrong, but it's soooo worth it.

South for the Winter
This morning, as I stood in my kitchen looking out across the valley and into the strips of blue sky that were slowly broadening their wings, I began to tap into the many birds chugging along at their own morning routine. This has begun to be quite a habit of mine. But today, it felt somehow a little more powerful than usual. As I stood in utter stillness and contemplation, a massive formation of geese came into view in a perfect and glorious “V.”

I’m Someone Who Never Says "No" and I Hate It
I'm that person who always, always, alwaysssss says yes to everything. Even to things I do not want to do, or that I know will hinder me from doing other things. Does this sound like you? This was why it was so hard for me to say "no." Let’s take a deep dive, shall we?

The Cancer Within Ourselves
Ever wonder that fear that we have. There is a brick wall always telling us to stop and rethink about what we are about to do. Whether be it a commitment or running a marathon or a business idea. We are always stopped or slowed down to no longer continuing to achieve that goal. The tumors in our communities and society have brought us down to a single passage that leads to a place of nowhere.

22 Life Lessons I Try to Live By
Earlier this month, I read an article written by one of my idols, Taylor Swift, in which she explained 30 things she's learned before she turns 30 later this year. After reading it, I thought of a list I have in the Notes app on my phone in which I continuously compile a list of moral life lessons I learn as I go through life.

Surviving the Immediate
I start with this disclaimer: I believe climate change is real and that our unchecked production, use, and disposal of carbon from the burning of fossil fuels is the greatest threat to the long term survival of the planet. If you disagree, you can stop reading here and save yourself ten minutes of frustration.

Missing Opportunities
Lately, I have been reminded that time is of the essence. We always hear go to work, finish school, but how often do we hear to follow your heart? And when we do, it's always followed by a "you should finish school first" or finish something else first.
