Today
Dear reader, Today has been quite long. I can tell you are waiting for it to end more peacefully than it started. I'm afraid that I can't help with that. I apologize. If you have time, you can reflect. Take a moment to think about what you had for breakfast so many hours ago. Think about why you ate that. Do you like eating breakfast? Were you hungry for it? Are you hungry now?

A Better You for a Better Future
In life, there is a never-ending feeling of pain or regret. The world has you at your knees with no option but to obey. The center of it all is you. Along with the rest of humanity. Is there a difference that makes you stand out? Is there any way for this to go away? The feeling. Why won’t it stop? What did I do to deserve this? No room for my thoughts to wonder. No room for me. Why?

The Only Limits, Are the Ones We Set Ourselves
Are you down and not sure where to go? This is the best opportunity you will have, and there is no better time to capitalize on your life. Chances are if you're reading this you can't be much older than 30 or 40. Take a look at yourself, and if you're where you want to be, congratulations. If you're not, stand up, get up, collect yourself and say, "I can do this." Whether you believe it or not, think it, and it will become your main focus. Think about the times you are feeling down, I'd bet you were focusing on negativity and things that could be. Just think of a time where you were happy, then keep thinking those thoughts. You will see your life change dramatically. When we grow, we can empower others, and I am so glad I saw how hard things were growing up. If it wasn't hard I wouldn't know how much effort I really need to put in to never go back there.

What's Hurt Got to Do with It?
Sometimes I panic about now being happy again. Worried that I could slip back into the unknown, a place I was in for far too long. A place I didn’t even know I was in for the first few years, until I crashed and burned, monumentally.

Things My Momma Said About Life
Things my mamma said is real life advise that has always led me into the light. Maybe her words can help you too... Take care of your family. Do the right things even when it isn't popular. Don't cheat on your partner. Don't let your partner feel less than any other person by your treatment of them. Speak the truth as you see it but be willing to listen and learn, your truths will change as you grow with time and wisdom. If you have kids then take care of them. Teach them the realities of the world and how to stand apart from the negative part of the world. Never let anyone hurt your babies, stand up for them and teach them to stand up for themselves. No matter how much it hurts inside accept when others show you who they are. Do not see them as you want them to be but see others as they really are.

Perception Is Weird
When I was a kid, I always believed that I could do whatever I wanted and that I can be whoever I wanted, but as the years passed by I realized that my perception on things wasn’t always true. I remember when I turned eight and I always thought that I had the most amazing smile and teeth but it was a lie I realized it was a lie when a close family member told me to smile with my mouth closed. As I kid, it hurt a lot but now that I’m 17 and my teeth are straight every time I laugh, I cover my smile which is weird because if my teeth are okay now, why do I feel the need to always cover my mouth when I laugh? People can have an effect on you that you might not even realize, like I never knew the reason why I cover my mouth until like five years ago. I believe that I am a strong person but my brain tells me otherwise.

Finally Putting Me First
For years and years, I had a tendency to put other people first before taking care of myself. I always put their needs before mine and somehow I ended up taking in all of their problems and in the process not taking care of myself. I carried on this way for the better part of half a decade. I always made sure everyone was okay before I took care of my problems and sometimes bills that really needed to be paid. I took on people's emotional problems because I figured that if I took them on it would ease their burdens. In the end, that ended up wrecking my emotional meter and I just ended up somehow hurting myself in the process.
