A Mind-Body Attraction
After I pulled the double shot of espresso the hairs on the top of my eyebrows left holes in my skin. My hairs were stiff needles. I shivered goosebumps from my toes to the back of my throat. Each hair felt as fine as a coarse fiber of metal. The sweat underneath my arms lit me hot to my fingers. I was hot as hell. The heat on my cheeks swooned my eyes to the back of my head, then I felt my head meet a wall. It sounded as a hammer misses a nail. Behind my eyes I saw colors. Some indigo, some forest, some ruby, and other colors as rich as any pit of tar. It was black. When I awoke I was most irritated by the amount of people around me—asking me if I was okay.

Healing Comes with Time
If you would have asked me five years ago where I imagined myself to be, I would have told you that I imagined myself alone. Not married or falling in love. I would've told you that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with two pitbulls, because having children meant that I would be stuck with a man for 18 years plus.

17 Self Discovery Journal Prompts
Honestly, if I kept every journal I've ever filled, it would probably be enough to fill a decent-sized closet. I've always kept one, I feel incomplete without something to write in. I want you to do me a favor, whether you decide to do this in a journal, on your phone, or on a loose leaf piece of paper, whether you do these daily, or all in one shot, PLEASE keep it, and look at it AT LEAST once a month. In that twelfth month do another round of these questions, and compare. Did any answers change? For better or worse?

Stuck?
I am fine. I know I am doing alright. Things could be much worse, really. I am a fighter, survivor, overcomer, and will keep carrying on. I know how to keep going on, it’s second nature to my brain cells; adversities, trials, emotional ups, social insecurities, and financial hardships all have taken their turn at me. It's okay. I am still fighting them at the moment. I don't have time to get down and be depressed even if I wanted to, others depend on me for literal survival. I do love traveling and, of course, cooking!! I love ❤️ to cook!!! I love giving advice to young women! 👯 I hate mediocrity, and hate wallowing in my obstacles and difficulties. I share little to none with others. It's no use. A friend of mine once called me a chameleon, I was crossed with her. Later I realized she was right! I am almost always blending in. At work, school, and church. ⛪ I want to be molded in so well that my life’s situations may not be seen sewing, traveling, and of course cooking!!

What If We Paused Our Search for Happiness?
What if we paused our search for happiness? It might seem like a crazy idea, but let me explain. I feel as if more and more people are sharing their opinions and tips on what to do to achieve personal happiness, so I thought I should do the same but with a slight twist. Besides, we all know that these people, who seem so perfect on social media, can have their rough moments—just like anybody.

The Seed
The seed was once a part of something huge; a very small, seemingly insignificant part of a tree. Well, the seed had big dreams, and aspirations. But he always kept them to himself. All day long, hanging from a limb, blowing in the wind, sitting in the scorching sun. But it didn’t matter much to the seed. He felt that he was somehow prepared for the weather that came in the season, so on he lived happily flipping and turning in the wind, until one day when he was feeling at the top of his game, he fell to the ground from the tree.

10 Things to Do to Improve Your Mood
1. Positive Affirmations I have a little book where I write all my affirmations down. At the beginning of 2018, I made a list of some things that I wanted to focus on and achieve: relationships, health, mental health, car, success… for each one of these topics, I made at least ten affirmations for each.

Being Broken Is Essential for Your Success
Have you ever realized that at a low point, things feel as though they are falling apart, and there is, what some would think, "no hope," only to come out on the other side, stronger, wiser in decision making, and less fearful of what may come?

I Quit My Job to Chase My Dreams
I never thought that this glorious day would truly come. I mean, it hasn't yet, however it is approaching super fast. I'm doing something that I have constantly desired to accomplish, but have been too much of a coward to make happen. I'm proud to announce I am quitting my job to pursue my dreams as a writer. Creative writing and frequent travel are undoubtedly something I have longed passionately for—for such a long time. The sole problem is I've been only doing just that... Longing. I haven't fought for any of it, and now it's a marvelous time to get started.
