How can I be of Service today?

Sometimes when we are feeling like “I don’t have the energy to help myself right now let alone others” when you say that to yourself - how grand of a gesture do you think being of service is? If you think it is a grand gesture, think again. Service comes in the most simplistic and small ways.

At any point it could be as simple as a friend calling you in time of need and whatever it is that you help them with, even if it is just holding space for them to speak and you listen to what they have to express, that’s service. If you feel the need to guide them in any way with advice or a different point of view, you have helped them see it from another angle. So by helping them, that has also helped you. Doing service for others can also be healing for you. It creates happiness and joy just by being you. The main ingredient here is that you are being authentic and that’s what is really important.

When we feel as though we can’t help others because we ARE too busy aligning or healing ourselves and doing what we need as individuals, just remember that helping others IS naturally healing. And it’s coming from a true loving and an authentic place, not from a place of ego. It’s a pure joy to see the shift not only for yourself in that present time, but for others too. The heart overflows with love and gratitude in those simple moments.

We can teach by remaining the student. What does that mean you ask? We can always teach what we are continuing to learn ourselves and be that student in order to serve others.

Serving can mean many things, whether it’s volunteer work, doing something that is of service to your community, or talking to a friend, living life in your purpose. That doesn’t mean having all the money in the world in order to buy things, products, programs in order to have the best to serve others, it’s just about finding your purpose and teaching what you’re learning at the same time. Maybe it’s a seminar, a free workshop for people to come in and collaborate or even writing an article for people to read. Being of service however you see it, is powerful and adds such incredible growth to yourself because you are sharing and connecting. We all have heard that we can be powerful on our own but coming together is even more powerful. And when the energy is genuine, it’s something that you want and crave more of as this feeling is what life is all about. Loving, living and not just existing.

When we talk about energy and giving, we have to make sure we give enough to ourselves each day too. Be sure you’re looking after yourself by recharging your energy, filling up your cup each day because we can’t pour from an empty cup. And again, that could even be as simple as taking a walk in nature, by the ocean or just being still each day for a moment to take a breath.

We are all divine beings who deserve the most out of this life that we have been given, and we all need to be reminded of that from time to time. That’s why it has been said by many that when serving others, is healing to all. Live authentically purposeful and discover what that means to you. We all have our different ways and there is no right or wrong in my opinion.
