We can recall his accomplishments and legacy as soon as we hear his name. I have not even told you guys his name, but in many of our minds, we can remember only one name: our legend, M. S. DHONI. Seriously, we couldn't have asked for a better captain than him for India. Sorry, I didn't forget about the KING. I will talk about his story in another article. Seriously, guys, what Dhoni has done for the Indian team is remarkable. He revolutionised the way captaincy was done earlier. Even Sachin Tendulkar, the God of Cricket, has failed miserably in leading Team India. When Dhoni was appointed captain for India in the first T20 world cup, no one believed in him winning the world cup because many senior players decided not to play in the T20 world cup. Dhoni's captaincy throughout the World Cup impressed the cricketing community because most of his decisions were unusual and he ended up with the result that many desired. At the final of the T20 World Cup, where India and Pakistan played for the second time, that was a high-intensity match. Even though he scored 6(10) in the first innings, he never put that in mind and captained India with full confidence in his mind. The one statement that he told Jaginder Sharma in the last over of the match is life lesson which we want to learn from M.S. Dhoni. Dhoni told

  • "The discussion before the final over wasn't around what line and length I should be bowling or what should be my bowling strategy. Mahi told me not to take any kind of pressure. If we lose, it was on him."
  • "Even when Misbah hit me for a six off the second ball, we weren't tense. At no point, we discussed what we needed to do. Just before I delivered the third ball, I saw Misbah getting ready to play a scoop. So I altered the length and bowled a slower one. That's why Misbah couldn't hit it properly. Sreesanth pulled off the catch and the rest as they say is history," said Sharma.

SIMILARITIES IN CAPTAINCY

  • "We might lose a game here and there but it's alright. I want to put this team in difficult situations because it will help us in big games. Bilaterals we are very good at and this is how we are going to challenge ourselves. To be honest, all the young guns got us out of the situation today," Pandya explained

In Hardik Pandya, one can sense the youthful M.S. Dhoni spark. He is making every effort to maintain the peace. His tactical and original decisions on the field stood out.

India and England met in the Champions Trophy final in England at 2013. In the final over when 13 of 6 required he handed over the ball to off spinner Ravi Ashwin. This decision was questioned by many cricket experts at first, but many got stunned after winning the World Cup. M.S. Dhoni has only one thought, and that is to focus on the present and consider what can be done best there. He might win or lose a game from there, but he confidently tried many new things, and that's what matters to win big games.

This similar characteristic of Dhoni was seen in Hardik Pandya when he handed over the ball to Axar Patel, though he was in great rhythm in Ind vs Sl 1st T20 at Mumbai in 2023. This way, he skyrocketed the confidence of Axar Patel, and he reflected that form in his batting in the next match as well by scoring 65(31). Although India lost that match, it will be remembered by many Indians on January 5, 2023.

  • A glimpse of MS Dhoni is visible in the captaincy of Hardik Pandya', Sanjay Manjrekar's statement after winning the IPL trophy!

Hardik Pandya celebrates after winning the IPL trophy, and his ability to make critical decisions has also improved significantly. He was nearly at his peak in "batting," "bowling," and "fielding." He told the press at the time about his new year's resolution for 2023: to win the World Cup for India.
