"Echoes of Laughter: The Tale of China's Three Joyful Monks"
This will change your way of life

Once upon a time, in ancient China, there were three old monks. Their names are lost to history, as they never shared them with anyone. In China, they were known simply as the "three laughing monks." These monks had a unique way of spreading happiness and wisdom. They always traveled together, and their main practice was laughter.
When they entered a village or town, they would gather in the central square. Without saying a word, they would start laughing. Their laughter was infectious, and soon, the people living there and even those passing by couldn't resist joining in. Slowly but surely, a small crowd of laughing individuals would form. Eventually, the laughter would spread throughout the entire village or town. Once this happened, the three old monks would move on to the next place, continuing their journey.
Their laughter was more than just amusement; it was their form of prayer and teaching. They never spoke to anyone, yet they communicated a profound message through their actions. They seemed to convey that life itself should be embraced as an opportunity to laugh. It was as if they had discovered a cosmic joke that connected everyone.
Their journey took them all over China, and wherever they went, they were loved and respected. People had never encountered such unique spiritual teachers before, nor after. Their philosophy resonated deeply with those they encountered. They demonstrated that even in the midst of life's challenges, laughter could be a source of strength and unity.
However, as the years went by, one of the three monks passed away while they were in a village in the northern province. The villagers were taken aback by this unexpected turn of events. They came from far and wide, leaving their fields unattended, to witness the reaction of the remaining two monks. The villagers expected to see sorrow or tears, but what they witnessed was quite the opposite.
The two monks who were still alive were laughing even harder than before. Their laughter echoed through the village, and they couldn't seem to stop. This bewildered the villagers, who approached them to understand why they weren't mourning their deceased friend. For the first time, the monks responded.
They explained that on the way to the village, the deceased monk had proposed a bet amongst them. He challenged them to see who would be the first to pass away. With a twinkle in his eye, he had prepared a testament stating his wishes. In a playful manner, he requested that his old clothes remain on his body, as he had never allowed the filth of the world to touch him through his laughter.
True to his bet, the old monk's body was placed on a funeral pyre wearing the same clothes he had arrived in. As the fire was lit, a breathtaking spectacle unfolded. Fireworks of a hundred colors burst forth, illuminating the sky. The villagers watched in awe as the sky was filled with vibrant explosions. The laughter of the two remaining monks mixed with the colorful display, creating a truly extraordinary scene.
This tale reminds us of the power of laughter and joy in our lives. It teaches us that even in the face of challenges and loss, maintaining a positive and lighthearted perspective can have a profound impact. Laughter, as demonstrated by the three laughing monks, has the potential to unite communities, bridge differences, and uplift spirits.
So, the next time life presents you with a problem or difficulty, take a moment to look in the mirror and simply laugh. Embrace the joy that resides within you, for it is this joy that makes you truly alive. Just like the three old monks, we can carry forward the lesson that life is meant to be celebrated with laughter, and that our joy has the power to transform not only our own lives but the lives of those around us as well.
