Don't Look Back

The past is watching

Long before life was crazy with the now issues at hand, we, the people of the world, were working daily to create a life that was better than our parents. We worked long hours to put food on the table, clothes on our families back and provided more than just the necessities, for working hard should have meant to live at least a little. But the key thing is that we worked hard to accomplish whatever goals we had in mind. The ability to push the envelope, to develop a thing that was never developed, to create a thing that was never created, did not start last year. It has been the one thing that drove mankind to develop the things that are created today. We have always longed to have better, so one day someone created better and so on and so forth. This one thing that ties together all people who are writers, producers, authors, bloggers etc. alike is that we create. We create to become what was not and create to be what is. We do this not for show or for the pride of it, no, our hearts bleed creation. We live our lives in hopes that we can create the thing that someone did not know they needed, but now that they found it, they cannot live without it. We are creators.

But as life continues to challenge the very essence of man, we the creators, may not have the strength to continue to create. For creation can be a silly thing, it can be a free thing, it can just be a thing that keeps us going but does not pay the bills. And at a time like this, some of the creators may have to choose between creating and putting food on the table. And lack of food can bring about a true feeling of disparity if not insanity. This choice can be the true reason why we all continue to create as well. We may see this time as an opportunity to document the truth behind how the pandemic has affected millions of lives. Creators may use their individual voices to create a larger-than-life painting that shows the multitudes of feelings that are bottled up behind the walls of people’s houses. We may choose to see the world as a canvas to create positive connections between people across all county and country lines. No matter where you fall on the spectrum, this is a strange time to be a creator. Almost a rite of passage as such.

So, what do we do at a time like this? Do we throw in the towel? Do we acquiesce and choose to take on the norm like never before? Or do we push on and continue to create even though we may not know what tomorrow will bring? I tell you what we should do. We should create as if this is our last day to create. We should create with fire and the type of tenacity that makes people wonder what the reason behind such a creation is. We the creators should continue to scour the earth to find the questions that desire answers and create the answers, for we are talented to do such a thing. And if you are not a creator and find this a tempting type of profession, then learn to become a creator and join the lives of many who love their calling. This past year has shown creators the blueprint of how to weather the storm, so do not look back, continue to create for the past is watching. Let us not disappoint it.
