Change is Challenging
Changing oneself can be a new beginning.

Life is ever-changing and sometimes one does not feel that they live up to their own expectations. It is best to realize that life is only what you make of it and to always do your best in any endeavor. The world is in constant change. One must choose to adapt or fall into a rut. The choices are your own. However, how does one begin to change their self?
The current situation has created many challenges for the world, yes, I am speaking of the CoVid-19 situation. There are individuals throughout the world who refuse to follow new ways to ensure the safety of the population. Although there is not anything that can be done to control another’s actions, you can control your own. Living by example is a great influence on others around you.
In all endeavors, it is best to realize that you have control over what you choose to do and the path that you will take. There may be consequences that are not the most desirable and other choices may be rewarding. For instance, I choose to wear a mask when visiting any public area or someone’s home. This is not just to assist in limiting my exposure, but to assist in reducing others from being exposed to things that I may have encountered. It is not 100% but it does reduce the chances for others and me.
This is only one way that you can start a change for a situation. Changing oneself comes from within and should be done for you. Realizing that there are things that you do not like about yourself or the way you think takes some soul searching. This is difficult to do since most of us do not want to know how others may see us in a negative light.
In my personal life, I know that I have many faults. I work on things all the time to better the way that I perceive myself. It is not an easy feat and there are times that I revert. That is when I take a deep breath, and say it is time to begin again. Never give up on who you want to be and believing in yourself is one of the greatest gifts you give yourself. It takes time to change since you did not become who you are overnight. Everyone changes at a different rate and no two individuals are alike. Therefore, you must figure out what works best for you and set small goals to achieve.
SoulSalt is a website that offers many ideas from Life Coaches to assist you in bettering yourself. There is an article that I particularly like, “21 Simple Ways to Change Your Life (Starting Right Now)”. The first quote says a lot, ‘The day you wake up and say, “I want to change my life,” is a special day. You’ve acknowledged something’s missing. You’re ready to take action.’ (Christian, 2019) This is the first step towards becoming who you want to be.
In this article, there is a list of ways to implement a new beginning for you by changing your situation, habits, and your luck. These ideas are based on the way to eliminate ambiguity and doubt to give you the space to move forward. Some of the suggestions are to keep a journal, forgive your past (this is a big one), be honest with yourself, and identify self-sabotaging behaviors. (Christian, 2019) The article offers ways to implement, places to start, and inspiration to assist you on your journey to a better you. Taking charge of your life is scary but invigorating.
Changing oneself takes time and we should concentrate on one thing at a time to create ourselves into who we want to be! So, look at yourself and what you see: be honest and willing to take the next step in creating who you want to be!
