Today I just want to talk about hope, which I think we could all use a little dose of every once in a while.
It can be hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when there is so much bad news and chaos going on around us.
I totally get it.
It's not really like that at all.
I just want to tell you that there is always a way forward, no matter what you're going through.
You have this nailed!
How important it is to keep hoping even when things seem to be going wrong.
We've all been there, right?
We're just hanging in there and doing our best to get through a tough time when, all of a sudden, something else goes wrong.
Right now it looks like all the odds are against us, and I don't know if things will ever get better.
It can be very heavy to carry around when you've lost your job, broken up with someone, or are sick.
It's okay to feel stressed out, scared, and afraid of what the future holds.
Something to hold on to is always out there as long as you're still living.
Things can always get better, and the odds are always on your side.
I wanted to send you a quick note to tell you to keep your hope alive.
It's really simple to get caught up in the present and let what's happening change how you see everything else.
Don't forget that this will also pass.
And also don't forget that every storm will end and every dark night will end with a bright dawn.
When we think about things we can't change, we start to lose hope.
Yeah, we all worry too much about the future or think too much about the past, right?
It's simple to forget to enjoy the present.
It's easy to forget that the only thing we can really change is how we handle the problems life brings us.
Here's an idea: instead of worrying about what could go wrong or dwelling on past hurts, why not focus on the things you can control?
Take it easy for a while and trust that everything will work out in the end.
Seeing how our lives compare to those of other people can make us feel down sometimes.
When we look at everyone else's highlight reels on social media, it's hard not to feel like we're not living up to their standards.
One thing you should know.
Everyone's journey is different, and it's not helpful to compare.
It's not fair to compare your real-life events to someone else's picture-perfect Instagram posts, even if what you see on the surface is the whole story.
In reality, everyone is going through their own problems, even if everything looks fine at first glance.
Who are those people who always seem to have everything under control?
They seem to be the ones having a hard time most of the time.
Just think about your own journey instead of what other people are doing.
No matter how small the win seems, it's important to enjoy it!
It's okay to ask for help whenever you need it.
Of course I know it's easy for me to say all of this while I'm sitting here typing away on my computer.
To be honest, I totally get it; I've been there too.
There have been times when I didn't see any hope left, felt like everything was against me, and thought I'd never see the light again.
Of course I did, though.
You can definitely do it!
You can't really turn hope on and off like a light switch, you know?
When things get tough, you can choose to hold on to it like a garden you've properly cared for.
How do you keep your hope alive when it looks like everything is falling apart?
Okay, so the first thing you need to do is admit how you feel.
Feeling scared, sad, or stressed out every once in a while is fine.
It's really not just okay; it's very important.
"You really need to allow yourself to feel all the emotions that come with tough times."
If you hold back, it can be tough to truly move forward.
Just a friendly suggestion to think about what you're great at!
You've been through tough times before, and I think you can handle this one too.
You are much stronger than you believe, very resilient, and able to do a lot more than you think.
Why don't you write down your skills and put them somewhere you'll see them every day?
It could really boost your confidence!
Then read this to yourself whenever you're feeling down.
Don't forget that you can handle anything that comes your way.
Just a quick note to tell you to look after yourself, okay?
Just a quick note to tell you to look after your mind, body, and emotions.
This is a friendly warning to make sure you exercise, eat well, and get enough sleep!
Just think about what makes you happy, what makes you feel good, and what calms you down.
It's very important to do the things that make you happy.
Don't forget to take care of yourself!
Spend time with people who will help you see your real strength and will support and encourage you.
Also, don't be afraid to ask for help when you need it.
I'd like to share some last thoughts with you today.
No matter what you're going through, remember that you're not alone.
Remember that there are people who care about you, want to help, and believe in you completely.
There are no right or wrong ways to have hope.
It will be sunny again, the birds will sing, and everything will feel lovely and bright again.
Keep your head up.
Hold on to it, care for it, and let it get you through the tough times.
You can do this!
Remember that better times are on the way.
