5 Illusions You Must Dispel For A Better Life
Controlling Is Trolling Yourself
A very intriguing subject for everyone around us, I will do my best to give you 5 examples of what you should simply stop doing and just let things flow to have a better life!
As always, I won't make a bit of an introduction as I don’t wanna make you scroll too fast — haha.
Time:
We cannot control time, it is impossible as we all know that, whatever you may do in your daily routine, mornings, days, weeks, life… the sun sets and then it rises back again, the day goes forward, and if you repeatedly do the same things, again and again, thinking: “I got plenty of time”, well, we both know that is NOT true.
2. Change:
One of the worst things about life is that everything changes. On the other hand, one of the good things about life is that nothing stays the same. So your most destructive and worst days won’t stay the same forever, just like the beautiful ones as well. We can’t control the change of events, of life, of everything around us. You look at a photo and you think “oh my God how times have changed”, and it’s true, but we don’t realize that only when we transcend ourselves into the past, and that’s alright as long as we don’t live in it. If you stop taking time for granted you won’t be sad about the changes in your life, ’cause you productively spend your time. And one more thing about productivity, let’s get this straight, if you wanna chill & Netflix all day ’cause that’s what makes you feel good then that is productive my friend.
3. The past:
All these three go so good together so far, we all know we can’t change the past, it’s physically impossible — and you should be happy that it’s not changeable, if you would be able to change the past you would live in a continuously three-dimensional-space trying to CHANGE everything you did wrong, you would try to make no mistakes and that’s impossible because one mistake creates something else, every action generates a reaction and we all know it, so why should we live in guilt because we did mistakes? Of course, you should always analyze your behavior and try to do better next time, but don’t beat yourself up for every little thing you did or said or perhaps you just thought it was wrong.
4. The Future:
Oh here we go, the 4th also goes like butter with all the other ones, and I know what you’re thinking: “But wait, I can control my future, If I set my mind to something, I will do it”, yes, you do have some control over how you ruin your life or how you don’t, but let’s face it, it’s inevitable that whatever you do for your future, unexpected things and events happen, such as, maybe you fall in love and you can’t control your feelings, maybe you suddenly wanna change your whole path/career or you just wanna follow your wildest dreams, anything can happen, all we can do is control our present actions and go with the flow I say.
5. Other people’s minds:
This one always hit me pretty hard, especially my altruistic side, I always wanted to make people feel happy, I couldn’t stand someone having a bad mood in my presence, I wanted to control every aspect of it and I failed many times. Sure, you can send a bunch of memes, take your friend out for some fun, maybe get drunk with them, but in the long run, it’s all about them with themselves, you can’t focus on everyone’s problem and make it your problem, you’ll get so wasted and exhausted that you’ll eventually be drained of everything, I’ve been there and the extreme altruism ain’t the answer to anyone’s happiness, especially yours.
The world is so unpredictable. Things happen suddenly, unexpectedly. We want to feel we are in control of our own existence. In some ways we are, in some ways we’re not. We are ruled by the forces of chance and coincidence.
