Who Are The Stockpilers?
Though the world has changed rapidly in the last few months, there is another factor that has changed just as swiftly — our ability to adapt to our new lifestyles and hunker down in our homes. In order to do that, people need to be sufficiently stocked and prepared. But some of us have gone to the extreme of stockpiling and hoarding, to the extend that photos of empty shelves are circulating across social media. Supermarkets are clamping down with restrictions on how many units of an item consumers can buy in one sitting.

Insomnia
Rain. Thunder. Lightning so bright it looks like the sun is out, but it only lasts a second each time. The thunder reminds me of the growling sound my stomach is currently making. It's one o'clock in the morning. I cannot sleep. An ambulance passes by making my decision to give up trying to sleep. Insomnia is the worst. I remember when I was a child thunder storms were so soothing that I fell asleep in seconds. Now I find myself two weeks into being thirty, irritated at the storm and my mind. It always wants to wander the most when I have a dire need for sleep. I have to wake up in a few hours to get ready for work. Thank goodness it's our slow season. I'm not sure I have the strength to lift large, heavy car parts for eight hours with no sleep. Did I mention that I need sleep? "SLEEP!" I shout. "SLEEP! FOR THE LOVE OF A HIGHER POWER, CAN I PLEASE SLEEP?!" There's silence as I scan my dark room trying to adjust my eyes; thunder and lightning yell again. I guess that's a no.

The Home Healthcare System is Broken
The personal care Health system is so broken, and sometimes I wonder if it can be fixed. These people coming to your house, and they act like they are doing you a favor, but what caregivers fail to realize it Is they are gaining paid to perform a service. These people are coming whenever they feel like it and leave whatever they want to. It's they did that a typical job they would be fired immediately. As a client, I have to turn everyday people into personal care assistants. Most of the time, I have to direct my care to a stranger I have never met before; we have to learn to each other on the fly. There is this added worry if their personality Will meshes well with mine. I am an avid believer that you know necessarily have don't like the person you are working with if it Is a temporary situation. For example, if somebody is picking up a shift to fill in, then you can put aside the differences to get done with needs to be done. If you are spending a lot of days and hours with one person, then you have to find a personality that can gel with yours. You don't want a staff that treats you like you work for them. Like they can Control everything you do. You don't want somebody that's going to tried to Control your Financial well-being. There are so many things to consider when assessing a personal care aide. There are so many pitfalls to this whole system. You don't want to get too close, because most PCA's don't stick around very long. As you are ready to put down your guard with some of them, it seems those are the ones who are prepared to steal from you.

Why you need to follow social distancing
Social distancing these last few months have sucked. I hate not being able to see my best friend, my family, or even clients at work. I hate talking to people through doors or FaceTime. I hate wearing a mask everywhere, and I hate not being able to go to the grocery store every time I remember something small that I need. But guess what? I do it.

Thinking of my plans that CO-VID has cancelled, I feel a bad kind of butterflies.
Today (07/05/20) would have marked the opening show of a site-specific, audience interactive that two of my beautiful friends and I were in creative development for prior to CO-VID. Whilst I'm grateful that I'm performing in an independent theatre companies virtual cabaret show tomorrow night on Zoom, my heart still feels heavy in mourning the loss of another show.

I Can See Clearly Now!!
👋🏾 There, It has been a minuet since we last had a chat in this way. I hope the Rona is not giving you to much grief? If no than, we are both in great company. Despite the over one million people who have been caught in her tentacles, and even worse, taken an L, I am so happy right now, I am not one of them. Yes, to answer you question, quarantine has me, like most feeling some kind of way. On one hand, I have never been so excited to be in the house. I have not been involved in political, community or just 💩💩💩 in general; BUT then its the fact, I can’t engage with the folks, or just do the things I actually do like, and what little I can do, requires I wear a face protection. May I just right here, tell you how much, I hate wearing face protection? Back in the day, when I worked on construction sites, I use to get countless reprimands for not wearing face protection. Crazy 😝😜 thing I would do was keep it close, so when the big shots showed up, I could just throw it on. AGAIN, let me answer you question, Yes I am obeying the rules? When I go out, despite my hating it, I still wear it; but because i hate it so much, It has forced me limit how much I go out, which has had me in the house these two plus months really working on me, which is what I would like to catch you up on.

When you come Face to Face with Covid-19
The Covid-19 pandemic has struck the world with a terrific speed. Every country and economy has had to contend with the adverse effects of this undying epidemic. Not only so, its onslaught is terrific, leaving trail of death and agony behind it. The sad thing about this disease is the fact that it spreads among the people through avenues which are so hard to contain so that many countries are forced to turn to stringent measures.
