Don't go Viral.
Corona-Virus and why people disrespect the warnings.

When all else fails, we, as humans tend to take matters into our own hands or point our finger at anyone that "should have done or shouldn't have done" something to prevent the catastrophe. In this case, our current pandemic, people from all walks of life are affected by a singular disease that ravages the respiratory system in a unique manner, leaving those with preexisting conditions i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, breathing difficulties, or simply being over the age of sixty years old to fall to the novel corona virus. At least that is what they told you in the beginning, however with new evidence that it effects humans of all ages, making it far more potent a disease than previously thought.
You might think that because of said evidence, and many professionals speaking publicly, that individuals would make the intelligent choice to take their advice to stay home, in place, or at the very least, stay away from other people. Sadly, this is not the case.
The news outlets have spoken and reported about continuous defiance of not only advice but orders from both local officials but also the President of the United States (As well as other governing officials in other countries).
"Why?" You ask? Well there are many reasons it is believed that people are indignant during these times of what some, if not many, are calling apocalyptic times. Here is a list of observations.
Ignorance: Humans tend to focus on what’s in front of them and rarely on what the bigger picture is, making them ignorant to what is happening around them. A car accident is the perfect analogy, except the car is unwittingly passing a coughing person in the toilet paper isle at a local grocer. Unbeknownst to them, now they have contracted CoVid19. You would think with all the coverage that has been made, that this person should know better, however there are individuals that didn't know about the disease until two to three weeks passed; example, Actor Jared Leto, whom was on a retreat of sorts, in the middle of a desert, when the outbreak first occurred. Later spoke up about his ignorance to the virus while he was secluded from society. I would imagine he wishes he had stayed away after finding out.
Stupidity: Possibly the simplest explanation. A person hears about the virus and its devastating effects yet they still go out and socialize. It is possible this is coupled with other reasons, so I will add those as well;
-Political distrust: You either love them or hate them; politicians. Donald Trump has not been exactly the best source of information in general, let alone when it comes to the corona Virus however he has professionals that work for him that care about you more than he does, so even if you hate him at least trust that the half dozen people that have spoken out about the virus have your health in mind.
-"Big Farma" distrust: This one is odd but there is a theory that big farma is the culprit and that they are the origin to the virus, blah blah blah. Look, if you do your research about any virus you would know that the Corona virus is a virus that has been around for a while and this one has evolved or mutated naturally. Looking at history of virus' this is a common occurrence and has been speculated to occur by many people, including Bill Gates himself.
-Misunderstanding the severity: In the beginning people heard this virus was "no worse than the flu or cold" and for some reason people still believe this when nearly fifty thousand people, worldwide, have died from the virus, which is over five times as many deaths in a year than the flu and it's only April.
-Conflicting evidence or lack of evidence: Kind of like the last reason, however this is based more of what social media and maybe a little bit of the regular media has been throwing around. "Do masks work, do they not work, does social distancing work or should we all just stay home in general?". Having worked in the medical industry, being the person to apply a mask to a sick person’s face so they didn't spread their germs that they expelled from their mouth and nose, it seemed that this was a logical approach. Seems we, (the medically trained) were right about this much, to prevent the spread, it is effective to block the viral projectiles with a basic face mask, even a cloth one, the kind you might find people are making online, can slow the spread by essentially keeping the germs to one’s self, especially if you don't know if you have it or not. Basically, there is a great chance that, whether you have the virus or not, that you would be helping everyone if you wore a simple face mask over your mouth and nose, although an N95 mask would do better to keep out the virus. Also, don't forget to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer when you can't wash your hands.
The TLTR is basically this: there is a new virus out there killing people of all ages, indiscriminately. Take care of yourself. Cover your face, educate yourselves, wash or sanitize your hands often and ultimately respect those around you and yourself with social distancing. Your future will thank you.
