An Unexpectedly Fabulous Side Effect of Not Drinking

The answer came as soon as he asked me if I’d care for a glass of wine. “No, thank you,” I said. “I don’t drink.”

Getting a Good Night’s Sleep
Oh sleep! it is a gentle thing, Beloved from pole to pole!—The Rime of the Ancient Mariner More than one quarter of the U.S. population reports occasionally not getting enough sleep, while nearly 10% experience chronic insomnia. Many people have difficulty falling asleep, sleeping through the night, or getting a restful sleep. This often leads to a reliance or even a dependence on prescription or non-prescription medications or herbs to help overcome sleep difficulties. In general, I urge caution in utilizing an approach founded upon medications or botanicals to be used in this manner; although, I do see a place for them. The basics of good sleep hygiene should be recommended as an initial point for anyone experiencing insomnia or having frequent trouble getting a restful sleep.
