Natural Resilience

Nature's Built In Abilities To Overcome Great Challenges And Why It Is Disappearing In Humans

By Dr. Cody Dakota Wooten, DFM, DHM, DAS (hc)Published 9 months ago 3 min read

One of the Largest Topics of Today's World is Resilience.

Indeed, it is Important.

The Ability to Overcome Challenges we Face.

To Stand Back Up when Stricken.

Fall Seven, Rise Eight.

This comes at an Interesting Time in Human History because, in many ways, Despite our Innovations and Ingenuity...

We are Horribly Sick.

On Top of this...

Despite all of the Tech available to Us...

We Appear to be Getting Sicker as a Species.

What makes this Incredibly Strange is the Fact that Nature seems to have Incredible Resilience.

I was watching a Documentary, and they talked about Chernobyl.

Now, if you do not Know about Chernobyl, it was the site of a Horrible Nuclear Power Plant Incident.

From the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)

"On April 26, 1986, the Number Four RBMK reactor at the nuclear power plant at Chernobyl, Ukraine, went out of control during a test at low-power, leading to an explosion and fire that demolished the reactor building and released large amounts of radiation into the atmosphere. Safety measures were ignored, the uranium fuel in the reactor overheated and melted through the protective barriers. RBMK reactors do not have what is known as a containment structure, a concrete and steel dome over the reactor itself designed to keep radiation inside the plant in the event of such an accident. Consequently, radioactive elements including plutonium, iodine, strontium and caesium were scattered over a wide area. In addition, the graphite blocks used as a moderating material in the RBMK caught fire at high temperature as air entered the reactor core, which contributed to emission of radioactive materials into the environment."

Now, this had a Terrible Consequence to the Health of Many People.

Including "1800 documented cases of thyroid cancer children who were between 0 and 14 years of age when the accident occurred."

There are Estimates that say the Zone around the Plant, or the "Exclusion Zone", will be Uninhabitable for 20,000 Years.

Yet, there is something Fascinating that Occurred.

In only 30 Years...

Nature has Reinhabited Much of the Exclusion Zone.

Forests are Growing Uninhibited.

Animals are Repopulating the Area.

Even some Adults (but Not Children) have Decided to Return to their Homes "In" the Exclusion Zone.

Now, I'm Not Saying we should Attempt to Live within the this Zone Ourselves, even though some people have done it.

But what I want to Ask is This...

Why have Experts Deemed it "Uninhabitable" for Humans for 20,000 Years...

When Nature is Adapting in only 30?

That is in 0.15% of the Time Estimated.

Are Humans Simply Unable to Adapt?

Are Humans Weaker than the Rest of Nature?

This is where things become Interesting.

We "Know" that Humans have been the Most Resilient Creatures on the Planet.

Only Humans have Expanded their Territory to Every Continent and Expanded into Space.

We "Are" Resilient by Nature...

Yet, we are Simultaneously Getting Sicker...

Less Adaptable...

What does this Mean?

I would say that We have Forgotten How to be Human.

Much of what we Do in Today's World is Directly Working "Against" Nature.

The Consequences are Easy to See.

We are Killing Ourselves and Preventing Ourselves from Accessing our Natural Resilience.

Sometimes Knowingly...

Sometimes Unknowingly.

Which can be Seen with the State of Burnout.

What is Burnout?

It is when, Physiologically, we are Unable to Create Enough Energy to Sustain our Bodily Functions...

Which causes our Bodies to "Strip" themselves of Materials to Function...

Caused by Consistent Dis-Stress.

Over 80% of the Workforce is Experiencing Dis-Stress.

Which, Directly Prevents our Bodies from Accessing Our Natural Resilience.

Our Lifestyles have become so Unnatural that we are Falling Behind the Rest of Nature in our Ability to Adapt.

If we are to Thrive and Flourish, we must Learn to become Naturally Human Again.

This is a part of the Call of Sageship.

To Gain Access to what Nature has Already Provided Us.

Soooo true. We sure are doing a lot of things that's going against nature. Also, it's so fascinating that plants and animals have reinhabited the exclusion zone in just 30 years!
