27 Years Ago on Memorial Day Weekend
Yes, that is a long time. Over two decades. I have had type 1 diabetes that long. My glucometer average says I’m 163. I have all but eliminated middle of the night high blood sugar. Nobody told me I’m a brittle diabetic whose blood sugars fluctuate easily. Yes, I suppose I fluctuate and when I was on Zyprexa in college, this didn’t help. Zyprexa caused random spikes in my blood sugar. I’m working on getting my average to 135. I’m now 28 points away from this. What will my victory feel like? I don’t know.

7 Reasons Why You Should Meditate Daily
Meditation is a practice that has exploded into the mainstream in the last ten years due to the fast spreading wellness movement. But I'm willing to bet there are still quite a few people out there that just think they don't have the time, or that it's boring. Maybe just don't understand the true benefits of adding a short 10-minute practice to your daily routine. I know I didn't want to mess around with it when I first heard of it from a good friend of mine. But I was really suffering from anxiety and depression. No meds worked for me. I became curious. I started out with just 10 minutes in the morning. And you know what? Within about a week, I was in love. I want to share with you a list of my 7 favorite reasons why I believe you should meditate daily. I hope you give it a try.

Positivity Is Not a Quick Fix
When New Agers tell you, "think positive and it will be okay," they do not realize how destructive this nonsense is for mentally ill people. You see, we mentally ill folks have any number of “bad” thoughts because our brain pulls a number on us — especially if you are an anxious person or a schizophrenic, and schizophrenics can be anxious at times as well, since a big symptom of schizophrenia is massive anxiety. This is why medication taking is so important for those of us with mental health diagnoses. You positive attitude jerks don’t realize that when you feel bad, you feel bad.

Dining With an Unhealthy Relationship
Throughout my life, I have always had this unhealthy relationship; no, I do not mean an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend that I was with. No, my unhealthy relationship is with food. The good news is, there are things we can do to prevent heart disease, and one of them is merely changing how we eat and drink.

My Experience with Thrive
This article is to tell you all about Thrive and my experience with Thrive. First, let me tell you about myself. My name is Courtney, and I am nineteen years old. I have a little boy who is currently four months old. Before I was pregnant, I weighed one hundred and eighteen pounds. Right after I had my baby, I weighed one hundred and fifty pounds. I now weigh one hundred and thirty pounds thanks to Thrive. I heard about Thrive a few months ago through a friend of mine on Facebook. I do admit that I had some questions and doubts about Thrive. After I looked at her Facebook and I saw all her before and after photos, I decided I wanted to give Thrive a try. I am so happy I made this choice. Not only is it helping me lose weight, it is helping me be a better person!

As you can tell by the photo, I love lifting heavy! It is simply what I enjoy. How is it the most beneficial way to workout? Is it superior or inferior? Am I wasting my time? Damaging my body? Well, the answer may be more anti-climatic then you'd hope for.
