My Plant-Based Journey
I made the decision to become a plant-based (vegan) eater a year and a half ago. It wasn't a tough one, as a matter of fact, nothing has ever made so much sense. It all started in Vietnam, the destination where my friend and I became acquaintances with an already converted vegan. Sure, I had heard the term before but never had I looked into it. At that point, I already didn't eat too much meat and my dairy intake had been reduced since my dad was diagnosed with lymphoma back in 2012. I was practically a quarter of a way there!

Returning to Running After an Injury
In January 2015, I had a freak accident where the ligaments in my right knee almost completely tore. I thankfully didn’t need surgery to correct the tears, however, I was placed in a full knee brace for four months. But due to the damage, I was advised by my doctors not to do any sports (including running) for at least the remainder of the year. Now of course for someone who enjoys running and participating in races on a regular basis, this was devastating news to get my head around.

Healing Crystal Therapy
Dating back at least six thousand years to the time of the ancient Sumerians of Mesopotamia and in Vedic scriptures, crystal therapy was practiced to heal many people from physical disorders, mental disorders, and emotional imbalance. We all have days where we feel like we are not interested in things that we used to enjoy doing after a breakage of a relationship, or we feel depressed because we lost a family member, we are not getting a good income, or you were judged by someone. Well whatever the case may be, there is no such thing as giving up in my book.

Breathe
Breathe in. Hold your breath. A metal casket turns around me as I lay as still as stone. The hospital gown does nothing to diminish the cold of the table beneath me. Eyes peer at me through a layer of glass; the faces, the eyes belong to share a laugh. With my hands clenched and my breath caught in my chest, my lungs begin to sting. There is a fire tingling in the lowest part of my lungs, which beg for air. However, it is nothing compared to the knives, the invisible daggers that dig into my body over and over again.

How I Began to Drink More Water. Top Story - June 2018.
You read everywhere that you need to drink water every week, every day, every minute, and every second to stay healthy. However, there are challenges to that request. For some, it's not an issue based on how a person has grown up based on their parents' strict teachings or self-discipline at an early age, but for those—like myself—who grew up on the thought process of—"Eat & drink what you want while you're young"— which has its limitations. Well, never have I been so wrong.

The Cost of a Burger
***This food for thought spawned from a post on Facebook I read stating “Please don’t write another article on obesity in America until you explain why salads are $7 and a burger is $1!." This is a topic that I feel should be expanded upon. I thank you in advance for your time.***
