Natural Vitality Calm
Quarantine has had increasing challenges and demands placed on many, but especially parents. You don't need me to discuss how many times regulations, restrictions, and guidelines have changed over the past year plus. Although my husband and I did not have to take over education responsibilities because of my son's age, it still had its challenges and overwhelming demands. We were both considered essential employees. He was instructed to telework, and I was instructed to split my work between telework and physical reporting. My position had never been authorized to telework prior to Covid-19, so this was the first never tested experiment. My job was already stressful and demanding prior to Covid-19, but I was at least able to say my shift ended when it ended. I could wash my hands of my work responsibilities when I came home and put on my "mom hat." Initially, the teleworking transition wasn't too bad. Workplace items were getting sorted out with what was authorized and what wasn't, and for the first time, some of the traffic in my position slowed. I was able to watch my many of my son's first milestones and felt I could still be the parent I wanted to be. In a matter of months though, this changed drastically for the worse.

Start Off Your Morning Spring
As some of you may know if you've read some of my other articles, or if you've seen me on Spotify and listened to my music, or if you've happened to find me on the web, I find myself jumping around in many different professions during this time of my life. Mostly, for the winter I've been a massage therapist at a wonderful spa here in the high Rockies of Colorado. As a result I have found it imperative that I have good energy when I start my day. About a year ago I stumbled upon Robin Sharma's book "The 5 am club," which I committed to for 90 days and then proceeded to throw out my back and so that practice quickly went on the back burner. However, recently, I've dug myself back into into that practice, staring up into those mystic Colorado stars at 5am as I head out for my 30 minutes of running insert Isabel's Paige's "Oh my gosh Wowww" exclamation. Lately, however a key part of my routine has been what I put into my body first thing in the morning and one of the key players is this green juice company that I discovered.

If I Buy This, I’ll Be Happy
One year ago this week, I was laid off and introduced to the quar. Like many other people, I took this as an opportunity to better myself. Or at least told myself I was going to better myself because, let’s be real, I’ve spent the better part of the past year horizontal with my dog on one side and a bag of sweet chili Doritos on the other. None the less, my intentions were good. And like, I’m sure, so many other people out there social media made me even more blindly confident in this. That inspiration was always fleeting, but for a solid 3 or 4 days a month I was committed to this new healthy lifestyle! I spent many a 3 a.m. on Tik Tok inspired to begin my new life the following morning! Cut to waking up at noon, seeing there’s a Roseanne marathon on, and grabbing those Doritos instead. In some small ways, though, these influenced purchases were helpful and did help me become a better version of me who now doesn’t judge myself for eating a Little Debbie brownie for breakfast. Let’s get into it!
