Building Teams, Building Dreams: Leadership Strategies by Alex Rozwadowski
Cultivating talent and staying strong - a simple guide for aspiring real estate leaders

Hello, I’m Alex Rozwadowski. I don’t pretend to know everything. My journey—from growing up in vibrant Rio de Janeiro to refining my skills in Switzerland and now working here in Columbus, Georgia—has taught me that true leadership is a lifelong process of learning, adapting, and caring for others.
At CENTURY 21 Premier Real Estate, I've had the privilege of guiding a dedicated team whose successes, like winning the Double Centurion Award, stem from everyone's hard work, creativity, and passion.
I believe in leading by example, inspiring my team daily through genuine care and a commitment to continuous improvement while helping people find their dream homes.
I'll show you how understanding your industry and constantly updating your skills can set the stage for success, how to spark enthusiasm and support in your team, and why being a visible, active leader makes all the difference.
My hope is that these insights not only offer guidance but also spark fresh ideas for creating a team culture where every member can thrive.
Know Your Industry: Keep Learning Every Day
Our industry changes quickly. New tools, fresh ideas, and market trends pop up all the time. The best leaders stay on top of these changes by learning and adapting. This isn’t only about attending seminars or reading market reports—it’s about creating a habit of learning that you pass on to your team.
Think about the tech tools we use today. Digital platforms, virtual tours, and online marketing can make our work faster and more effective. Instead of fearing these changes, embrace them.
Share new tools and ideas with your team and encourage them to explore what’s new. This is how your team stays up to date and becomes a strong force of collective knowledge.
Ask yourself: "What can I do to help my team stay informed?" When you make learning a part of your daily work, you set a good example and show your team that being curious and informed is the key to success.
Motivate: Spark Enthusiasm from Within
Motivation is the driving force behind any team’s success. I’ve learned that real motivation doesn’t come from large bonuses or flashy rewards—it comes from sharing a clear vision and inspiring everyone to work toward it together.
Take time to celebrate even the small wins. A quick note of thanks, a shout-out in a team meeting, or a simple compliment can lift spirits and remind your team that their hard work matters. I remember during the tough days of the COVID-19 pandemic, things were uncertain and stressful.
But by celebrating little victories, we managed to keep our spirits high and remained focused on our goals. Those times taught me that true motivation builds strength and unity when things get hard.
Every day, I try to create an atmosphere where everyone feels they are an important part of our team. When people feel valued and understood, they bring more passion to their work.
Offer Support: Keep the Positivity Flowing
Good leadership means standing by your team, especially when challenges arise. The past few years have shown us that difficult times, like a global pandemic, can really test us. In such moments, a leader must be there to support their team not only in work but also in life.
I make it a priority to have open conversations with my team. I encourage them to speak up when they face challenges or feel overwhelmed.
Sometimes, a simple chat can help a person clear their mind and get back on track. Listening carefully and offering kind, practical advice helps build trust and keeps everyone positive.
Remember, your team’s emotional well-being is just as important as their work. When team members know they are supported, they can handle stress better and are more likely to work together as one strong unit. This support builds a lasting sense of trust and loyalty that benefits everyone in the long run.
Lead by Example: Show Them the Way
The best leaders do not simply talk about high standards—they live them every day. I believe in showing up with a positive attitude, being on time, and always putting in the effort to keep improving.
When I work side by side with my team—whether I’m meeting a client, joining training sessions, or managing daily tasks—I make sure my actions reflect the values I expect from them.
I often say, “Walk the talk.” If your team sees you learning new skills and taking on challenges, they are more likely to follow your lead. I don’t believe in giving orders from a distance; true leadership means being in the trenches with your team. This hands-on approach makes you more relatable and earns genuine respect from everyone around you.
Keep Learning from Others: Never Stop Growing
No matter how much experience you have, there is always room to learn. The best leaders constantly seek new ideas from others who have found success.
Attend workshops, join industry gatherings, or simply start a conversation with someone whose work you admire. I find that the most useful ideas often come from unexpected places—a chat with a colleague, or even an insightful article.

Mentorship also plays an important role in this journey—finding someone who has faced similar challenges and succeeded can provide priceless guidance.
I encourage aspiring leaders to connect with experienced mentors who share their practical advice and personal experiences. Mentors offer fresh insights and provide guidance to help you overcome leadership challenges, boosting your confidence and clarity.
Keep It Simple, Keep It Real
Real estate leadership is about being there for your team when times get tough and showing them that with hard work, honesty, and heart, any challenge can be overcome.
I hope that these insights give you practical ideas and inspire you to lead with kindness and determination. Remember that every step you take toward bettering yourself helps build a stronger, more caring team.
Let’s keep learning, growing, and leading with heart. I know that with the right mindset, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to support each other, we can build not only successful teams but also create lasting dreams.
Here's to creating environments where everyone can shine—and to the incredible success that comes from building teams and building dreams.
Warm regards,
Alex Rozwadowski
