But the positive influence of the father and the emotional figure should never be underestimated - the child needs and benefits from the affection and interest offered by his father. A father must not limit himself to imposing - he must be an involved and emotional presence in the child's life.

The child's brother or sister. The younger child will look at his older brother or sister as a role model, an example to follow (that's why parents need to see what kind of role the older one offers) and as a support, a reliable help.

Often, the younger child seeks advice or help not from his or her parents, whom he or she perceives as too old, but from his or her brother or sister. Of course, in the case of a tense relationship between siblings, the little one may feel a certain degree of jealousy: the older sibling is more independent, more mature, freer.

Little brother or sister - conversely, when the child is the eldest in the family, the little brother or sister can influence him in two ways: either he will attach to the little one and become his protector and support, teaching and caring for him. of this, becoming himself an example; either he will be jealous, looking at his brother or sister as a rival (this largely depends on how the parents know how to behave with the brothers and encourage their positive relationship).

However, relationships with siblings are essential for a child, and a harmonious relationship is a landmark, a model, and important support in the formation of the child.

Grandparents. 5th place in the top 10 people in the child's life: the warm figures of the grandparents, who pamper him and give him attention. In childhood, grandparents are very important to the child: they give him moments of joy, teach him a lot about life, give him other mature figures as role models, apart from his parents.

Nanny. The child who is cared for some time by a nanny is largely influenced by it: therefore, parents must choose the nanny carefully for their child.

In addition to practical care, the nanny transmits knowledge and values ​​to him, imposes rules on him and punishes him, stimulates him with beneficial activities, or, on the contrary, lets him sit in front of the TV in vain, without encouraging his training.

The teacher. The adult who, although not part of the family, has a major influence on the child's life, offers a variety of knowledge, prepares him, stimulates him to learn and learn, increases or decreases self-confidence.

The teacher, however, does not only offer knowledge - but a way to learn and improve your skills; a way of looking at life; values, ​​and motivations. A good teacher remains a role model for the child and an authoritative, competent, and emotional figure.

The best childhood friend. 7th place in the top 10 people in the child's life: the child's first best friend, which often influences him a lot. This best friend will be a model that the child will imitate, which will give him another perspective, other values. The best friend is another important source of affection and appreciation for the child: he needs a close relationship with a roommate.

The school colleague. Who can be his partner in homework and play, with whom he will collaborate, or can be his rival, with whom he will compete? The bank colleague in the first years of school greatly influences the child's adaptation to the school environment and the way he perceives the school.

If he has a negative relationship with his bank colleague, school hours will be perceived as extremely unpleasant. Instead, if he has a positive relationship, the child will gladly go to school and will be able to have a colleague with whom to do his homework.

The first love. This is not necessarily the first love of adolescence: even children aged 7–8, even younger, give birth to "passions" as a child! In general, until around 10–12 years old, the child prefers the company of those of the same sex: girls with girls; boys with boys. But a boy or a girl will be different, it will be childish, naive, and innocent love.

This child who will be the object of the child's first love can positively influence him: if he accepts his affection and spends time with him, the child will gain self-confidence; or negative: if he does not want to be with him, the child will feel rejected, ugly, stupid, inappropriate. Therefore, parents should not laugh at this childish love but should be supportive in case of rejection, encourage and strengthen the child's trust.

The model is chosen by the child. And the last place in the top 10 people in the child's life: the model chosen by the child, the person he idealized, and the one he wants to be is a major influence in his life and training.

This model chosen by the child can be one of the parents; another child, usually older or a teenager; another well-known adult: teacher, family friend; or often a TV or book star or character. The model that the child idealizes is extremely important: the child will want to be the same, will imitate behaviors, will learn to speak and behave like the model.
