Talk Yourself Through Life
When your alarm jolts you awake at an ungodly hour, you grumble, “Why did I set this thing so early?” In the mirror, while scrubbing away sleep, you ponder, “Maybe I need a haircut… or maybe not?” Then, in the mad dash out the door, you fumble for your keys only to realize they’re missing, and you can’t help but cry, “I just can’t do anything right!” All of this while your neighbor peeks out, witnessing your one-person show. It might feel a bit awkward to be caught chatting with yourself, and some might even label it as a sign of instability. But decades of psychological research tells us that talking to yourself isn’t just normal—it’s a natural part of being human.

Poly Living. Content Warning.
I have been engaging in a polyamorous lifestyle before I even knew there was a term for it. When I was 13 years old, I was dating a boy that I noticed my best friend seemed to have a crush on too. Instead of getting angry at her, I asked her point blank if she liked him, and reassured her that I wouldn't be upset if she was honest with me. She was my best friend and I really was not at all bothered when I noticed her flirting with him and interest in him. She told me that she did like him a lot, and my response to her was "well, you can date him too if he wants. We can both date him, I don't mind." And I didn't mind. He agreed and dated both of us for a several months... a lifetime in teen years back then. She met someone else and broke up with him. Then a short time later, he ended up getting another girl pregnant and broke up with me because he had to 'marry' her.

Stop Killing Us.. Top Story - February 2025. Content Warning.
In 2024, approximately 350 trans and gender non-conforming people were murdered in hate attacks around the world. Nine out of ten of these attacks were on trans people of colour: specifically Black trans women. And each year, the figures increase. As of February 20, 2025, eight new anti-trans bills have been passed in seven states. It's aggravating, isn't it? In 2024, there were nearly five hundred mass shootings in the United States. People are dying because they cannot afford medications that will save their lives. Climate change is heating up the Arctic twice as fast as anywhere else on Earth. Yet, all anyone cares about is taking away the rights of trans people.

Thank you.. Top Story - February 2025.
A friend of mine got the words 'thank you' tattooed after they experienced something awful and were caught by their community. I haven't experienced anything as bad as that truly awful event, but I have been caught, and I do want to say thank you.

Dear Diary, I want to tell you about the last day I dated men.
October, 2019 I had only been in New York for 3 months. And I was on a date that was the end of a string of several dates with men that were all incredibly underwhelming. This particular one was exceptionally bad: he was boring. An hour and a half in, I found an excuse to get out of it and left. But I looked cute, it was only 8pm on a Thursday, which is still so early in New York City, and I was not ready to end my night. Plus, I was disheartened with the NYC dating scene, and I needed a drink.

The ticking of an old Grandfather clock
It was not a loud sound, but its presence was undeniable, each tick echoing as a slow heartbeat in the stillness. The pendulum swung rhythmically, back and forth, its motion a dance of time that seemed to move in its own world, untouched by the passage of the years.
