humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Red Kite
She sat at her desk, deadlines running through her head, when a loud screech woke her from her haze. As she turned her head to look out the window, a bur of rusty red, brown and white swooped by her window. She stood up to watch a beautiful red kite slowly come to a stop on a tree branch and look towards her.

Gone The Tides Of Earth: A Novel
Tide washed in past the shoreline as the red disc of a blood sun retreated into a beam of ichor upon the horizon. Borne with current, fish carcasses and seaweed began to flush in and straddle dry sand. There were bits of driftwood and litter caught in perpetual ebb, bobbing at the brink of the water. Seafoam already fizzled along the eclipse of golden beach.

One Anti-Racist British Monarch
So you’ve seen “The Queen” and perhaps you even have a special tea set that makes the next gen feel oh so special when you grant them permission to try it out. Then you hear all this stuff in the news recently about the Royals being racist. How does one respond? Well, you can always offer up another real life example on the same level.

Get ya stunna shades on..
As the bus bumped and squeaked under me while riding home that day, I peered out the window. It was bright, the sun was shining it was truly a beautiful day. My light blue-grey eyes didn’t care for the piercing brightness of the sun. I often received compliments about the beauty of my eyes, people adored the blue hue that I wore. I didn’t want anyone else to see. I felt uncomfortable. Uncertain. Unsure.

The message came on wings
It's strange how oceans apart he peered into my life. He said in his dream we crossed paths, and I had one thing to say. This one phrase, that made me question my reality. A reality, that I once was told by a little piece of paper taped on an air vent in my room by a stranger, ---you create your own destiny. I always felt like control was never an option for me. Like the wings of a butterfly, perfectly symmetrical---balanced one would say, I lacked these traits. That dream he told me, where I was determined to keep chasing the butterflies, how could he know I kept seeing this sign? A symbol that is so beautiful, yet blindly I followed it into the darkness and, I'm still there.

Getting Ready For Surgery
Ive been getting ready for my Osteotomy or bunion removal as some people call it. Sitting here with my new bed desk, granted it’s not the over the bed desk I was hoping for but its better than the alternative which was nothing. You see I am getting ready for surgery. I am having my bunion fixed which can be a totally painful with a long 8-week recovery period, but “this doesn’t have to be a horrible experience” was my first thought. As all people should, I researched my procedure and got a good idea of what I needed to do and buy to help me get through the next 8 weeks or so. I believe I was successful, but I will let you know in exactly two days how helpful my plotting and planning really have been. I think I covered all the bases.
