humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Human
It happened over a beer down in Havana Cuba. In a smoky hotel bar that was dirty marble floors and patched up wooden walls. The guard from the hotel I called home patted me on the back. I bought him a beer. We began to talk over a drink through cigar smoke and two people from different worlds found out they weren't so different after all.

relationDips: crabs
It may be hard to fathom at the outset how a post about relationships would involve crabs other than the obvious allusion to sexually transmitted parasites, aka pubic lice. Let's therefore have a close inspection of the crab as one of God's creatures.

Alone at the Bar
Mariah was sitting at the Blackbird Bar, twirling her Merlot in the glass as the sole evidence of her building frustration. Her date was twenty minutes late. She checked her phone again; there were no missed calls or text messages, no hints as to his whereabouts, no apology or excuse. She sipped her wine and reached for the remainder of the roasted nuts she’d ordered. The flavor was as salty as her mood, tempered only by the rich fruity flavors of her wine selection, which matched her plum, velvet dress with its sensual undertones.

Karma
“Don’t think about it! Do it right now!” The child held the rusty machete over his left ankle, wondering what he did in his past life to have such awful karma. Ruhan closed his eyes and lifted the sword, reminding himself that beggars without all four limbs get thousands more rupees than beggars with.

Home
I don't remember how I got here, or when, or even where I am. All I know was that I was laying in the hospital bed. I was surrounded by the sounds of beeping machines and whimpering and crying. Even though I was very aware of what was going on, I could not speak, nor could I comfort the sounds around me. What I do remember was the feeling of a gently pressure of someone holding my hand and prayers.

Are These Your Kings
What is going on with these “relationship gurus”? No is ever who they really say they are and it is very suspicious. Why call yourself a relationship guru in the first place? Why not show off your relationship and let us form our own relationship goals? Do you know why they never show their own partners? The relationships they are in are all crappy to begin with.

Americanize
Societal beliefs in a melting pot such as the United States, good or bad? What productiveness can come from having so many different people interacting with one another in a group of states that, sure have been filled with masses of different classes, ethnicities, and ideals, for generations upon generations, but even then each generation brings its own flair, its own ideology of how people should be and interact.

First & Last
The silver haired woman waited patiently at the table, menu in hand. How much time had passed? She looked at her wrist, then remembered that she intentionally left her watch on the dresser at home. It's the only one she owned, and it clashed with the outfit she had planned for the evening. A white leather band, and she really wanted to wear a nice maroon blouse that was collecting dust in her closet. "When did I buy that" she thought to herself. It must have been a while ago. But she really liked it, the light fringes on the sleeves made her feel younger. How old was she these days? Hard to keep track of it.
