To all my retail working comrades, this story is for you.

Have you ever woke up on a bright and sunny day to go to work and the day is as beautiful as a warm summers day. You get to work, and, all of the sudden, you think, "oh my god why am i hear today"? Oh I know that feeling oh so well. You get clocked in and then, completely out of nowhere mind you, you hear this, "excuse me do you work here?", and that is when the shit storm starts. You hold you tongue, and reply with," yes what may i help you with today." All the while, your brain is thinking, " no the doctor told me to put on this uniform, and stand here for eight hours. He told me it would be good for my health!" I get your pain, trust me, I have heard them all.

You see, I work at a large grocery store chain where i get people who could have a degree in rocket science, but as soon as they walk through the door, their intelligence disappears completely. It is insane to say the least.

Prime example, a guy walks in the door turns and looks at me and says, "excuse me sir, where is your produce department?". "Oh sir, its right over here." I respond as i am clinching my fist and gritting my teeth. My mind is thinking, "Oh lord do you not see the gigantic wall of cabbage, Lettice, and Carrots? I mean open your eyes man!".

Another question that you may hear time and again if you work in retail, especially with a customer service counter, or whatever the other companies may call it, is " excuse me sir, where is your customer service counter?" Especially when they are standing right in front of it. "It's right behind you ma'am." I respond, and let me tell you my dear comrades, I had the look of ,"Oh my god there is no hope for intelligent life on this planet anymore. I tell you friends I truly wanted to say, " Ma'am, if you walk out that door, hang a right, and go around the corner it will be right there, and don't forget to bring me a bottle of jack when you get back."

And those are only just two of the questions you may get while working in retail.

Until the next part comes comrades,

Have a wonderful day.
