humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Service With An Attitude
On my way home from work in the south of Spain, late and tired, I stopped off at a pizza place called Telepizza. I ended up wishing I had never bothered. Not because the pizza was in any way bad, lets face it, it's hard to make a mess of a bread base, a spread of tomato puree and a couple of handfuls of mozzarella cheese. What made me rue ever setting foot anywhere near the place was the appalling attitude of the staff.

Locked Out and Keyless
I never forget my keys and this time was no exception. The issue was that I remembered them after I closed the locked door behind me. The two and a half inches of whatever doors are made of kept me from being able to grab my keys that were-at most-three feet away from where I stool. Life was funny but at that moment it was down right hilarious.

I’m Going Through a Huge Writer's Block Right Now
I can’t write. Not more than a couple of words. It’s frustrating and frankly, I’m not sure what can I do to escape. I know what got me here, though. It’s more complex than “I stopped writing and I lost my rhythm”.

pulse
I don't know when I found that clocks no longer have so much time meaning to me. I will wake up on time in the morning, my work will come as promised, and my bank's reminder message will be delivered every minute. Even by taxi, I will wake up from my coma one minute before I arrive at my destination.

Slowly Fading. Abundance
The animals tip toed and fluttered around in awe. Those of the finned variety floated with gaping mouths, the others were still, just feeling the peace. Could it be real? Their home? As the tall Kauri bowed down to welcome them, and the stands of fragrant Manuka waved gaily at them, the animals knew it was true. They’d been gifted paradise. A place with no predators. A place where everyone could be who they were destined to be without fear of persecution. Where the trees could grow tall, the bushes thick, and the flowers blossom in untouched abandonment. Utopia.

Loud Silence
I had a really deep, intense conversation with my best friend of ten years. Katie, remember her from my Ended Another Friendship story? She's the one who saved me the last few months in California. Well, one night we had one of our deep, intense conversations that we rarely have. We're both the same, very up beat, happy, would do a lot for our family and friends, and just be there. It's rare we have these types of conversations. This one lasted from nine at night to close to eight in the morning.

me made happiness
Getting your heartbroken sucks, everyone knows this. Somehow it feels like it never gets easier. Over the years I have found many ways to deal with heartbreak. Some ways are healthier and easier on myself than others but it's all about the learning experience right?

Prideful Beginnings
You speak, but nothing is registered. As if you're being ignored or pushed aside. Small conversations are made to pass the time but soon becomes lost in translation. You were talking as if nothing happened but now questioning if you will be heard or not. Will the thing you said be understood? All the time wasted to build up what was believed to be happiness. Rules to change along the way & now being closer than before feeling like you've been used all over again.
