humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
New Year's Eve: A Progression
January 1st, 2017 (25 years old) I woke up in complete darkness, as per usual. The hum of my mini-fan wasn’t loud enough to drown out the sound of someone’s footsteps thundering down the staircase above me. Groggily, I wondered what time it was, and if I was the last one up.

Thanks so much, Mr. President. Really.
I am a voter. I believe in the right of the majority, in most cases. I am also a mother; of six eclectic, vibrant and intelligent children that have seen and heard much more than we had at their ages. Though my 4 boys and 2 girls vary in age (2 under six years old, 1 preteen and 3 teenagers), we often settle disputes with a vote or some form of democratic resolution. Sometimes, I just make them hug it out because hugs...

The Role That Each of the Partners Plays in the Couple’s Relationship
In contemporary society and today's young couples, when talking about roles in a relationship, it must be borne in mind that the specialization of roles according to the gender of partners is no longer valid. Today, roles are interchangeable between partners (usually). Very few couples still practice traditional role-sharing.

Do You Have The Fear of Privacy?
In a society in which individualism is the main ideology, in which it is increasingly difficult for a man to show his true face, the fear of intimacy is a real social disease that affects many people. This is because today's man builds various social roles depending on the context, maintains multiple relationships in various areas of his life, so a deep relationship based on honesty, communication, and affection is difficult to create and sustain.

Be a Person not Human
I have a hard time with the fact that people today are still discriminated against in any way. I grew up in a small town where there were only five hundred kids in a school that went from kindergarten to grade twelve. We did not have our first person of color join our school until I was in grade six or seven. I think he felt that he was singled out because of his color and I suppose in reality he was, but we did not treat him differently than anyone else. We had never learned to hate based on race. Whether because we had no one in our town of color before and had so many questions based on everything we heard on the news and from other people in the big city, or because it was a new kid in school, and we never got a lot of them, all the kids wanted to his friend, and he was probably more popular than he had ever been in his life. As time went on he never got in any more trouble than any of the other children and in fact against everything the media tended to guide people towards believing, his whole family became a big part of the community and tried to do good for everyone around them. There are good and bad people in every culture, and in every country, town or city the fact is people need to stop judging based on skin and pay more attention to the actions of people.

Malcolm Little X
Born Malcolm Little, in 1966 a racially disturbing time in history, a child of Afro-Black American distinction, was to become a man of considerable conviction and knowledge. A flat-out messenger sent to open eyes shut by injustices and fear. The vision he professed and the legacy he was destined to leave would be considerably impactful. A man placed in a desirable position, but only to the chosen. A lot of men would not have accepted the grave responsibility and role this man played in civil rights. This era of humanity was cruel and from my perspective, out of order. The introduction of Malcolm X, and the movement he carried, not only was impactful but necessary. I can not personally imagine being in the same place, or time of such reverence. The whole idea of what was endured, set forth, and accomplished is mind-blowing stuff. Not only is this man my hero, But also a blaze of fire and motivation! For me, His story is not only of proactivity & Black self-love and respect but of encouragement and self-will. Line up 10 great men today of Integrity and anointing, I doubt they measure up to the X.

A Kinder World Through Music. Runner-Up in We Have a Dream Challenge.
Music is often described as the universal language. I have seen this firsthand in my nearly 35 years of teaching music at Dr. Daniel Bright public school in Cottonwood, Arizona. New students may come in my classroom feeling alienated, especially if English is their second language. But if they see the other students engaged in a song or music activity which is easy enough to catch onto, they inevitably smile and participate.

2022: Prioritizing Self Care
Another new year brings another round of resolutions. Year after year, individuals become invigorated by the new year and pledge to commit to self-improvement. New Year’s resolutions abound, full of hope and promise, but as the year continues, more and more devotees drop off, struggling to remain committed. The resolutions sound incredible on paper, as concepts, but implementing them into daily life can prove challenging. Habits, obligations, responsibilities, stress, and daily routines accumulate, leaving our pure intentions and aspirations to wither and become neglected. As time progresses, they become forgotten altogether with vows to attempt again next year.

We Have the Dream 2
Born on January 15, 1929, was A Martin Luther King Jr. whom one day would share with the world a world changing outlook on how people should treat and respect each other. Which then took place August 28, 1963, where he delivered a life ending speech. Today we stand in the year of 2022 where that vision is still taking its time to settle into embracing the world with its meaning from the message. Dr. King was a Capricorn full of consideration for his people, The people of the world! My mother was two years from being birth into this world and then I came in 1986 where I dreamt of my own; A Dream as well as Martin Luther King Jr, I want to share. So, how it starts off is as a child growing up in foster care, being a witness to many fascists of abused women, men, children. Starting from within their very own homes, schools and even public outing's. Even experiencing my own share of that physical abuse from all aspects. The process of my dream at that time starts to chemically form itself unconsciously. Placing myself as direct contact to help younger children then myself as an advocate in summer youth programs like S.T.Y.L.E.S. Which'd helped children like me with issues at home or anywhere else in life. Later On, I felt like this was not all to my journey. Attending college for Criminal Justice went to school for Psychology Pre- Counseling starting in 2019. Now in 2022 I have planned to become a multi-business owner where I would like to consider all emotionally, economically displaced individuals. The rights of these individuals are unequally divided as well as stagnated. Life for these persons is harder to live successfully and because I myself went through the steps I have envisioned a place where they can be valued, educated, protected emotionally, protected by having resources that will build them rather than segregate them. Taking these steps to open a restaurant that will give these people a chance to be able to focus on one personal build up at a time as well as have that support system that is stable no matter what age you are or grow to be, this system will remain. The food offered on the menu implements health management that will help reinforce cognitive thinking, productive decision making and stable support on daily life values. Learning that when hungry or not eating right is a physical downer in itself. Not having family or friends also creates mental health slowly but surely. Just like Dr. King Jr. I want all of us to be able to have equal rights to life. A balance and fair chance at life changing opportunities by helping the world become aware of areas that are not as strong as they can be. Positivity and love help deals with this man-made disease. Usually, ignorance is the cause and effect of inequality, once the restaurant hit a level of support, I will then expand it into a club/ lounge where numerous of classes will be offered to help educate, then to hold food and clothing runs to the less fortunate as well as support groups where we will help satisfy the needs of the community. In this vision I do not have a pick of whom could be helped or who should assist in helping because as a melting pot state of NY, I believe as well; "It takes a village to raise a child". And in this case, we have many to start with. My dream to help the world with hungry, quality of life, education and just regular support systems set in place of never failing in life. Even though this is a long thought-out process in the meantime food help connects all the people that want to see a change as well. In the loving memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I have a dream to also help the people of the world no matter the color or their situation if I cannot offer it directly, we have each other. It not what you do today but what you can do every day that will one day at a time change someone else life for the positive. HAPPY DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr. DAY
