humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Dear Dearly Departed
I hardly know how to write this letter because it defies expectations in every manner, and if you knew me better, you’d know that I don’t like failing to meet expectations. This contest’s expectations are to write about a hometown hero. Society’s expectations are that this person should be a family member, friend, teacher, pastor, first responder, even a celebrity or fictional character. Even I expected that I would write about one of those people. I tried to write about those people, only to hit a wall every time as memories of those people dredged up emotions best kept locked away.

The Path to Egg'quality
Did you ever see that egg meme going around a few years back. It was a teaching lesson or something about how different eggs look differently on the outside, but you crack them open, the yolk is the same color and shape on the inside. Funny enough, when I think of inclusivity, I think of those eggs.

Fostering Kindness in 2022
From 2020 until here in 2022 the masks, social distancing, covid-19 test, and vaccines have all made it just a little easier to work and mingle with other people during the covid-19 pandemic. Well, that's if we get past the shutdown of many gathering places, workplaces, and schools at the start of the pandemic and even still today. There has been so much going on during the pandemic besides the world covid-19 virus crisis. There have been issues such as political and election issues, and social injustice issues. These issues we have been dealing with for years just in the United States alone. The question is how will we mingle and help each other and foster kindness in life after the pandemic?

A Team of Heroes. Top Story - February 2022.
MISCONCEPTION OF HEROES As a young girl growing up, hearing all of the fairytales and watching all the superhero movies I was convinced of a few things regarding heroes. I was convinced through reading and hearing stories that fairytales only happened for Caucasian people or strange looking people in faraway lands that don't exist and that super heroes either wore a cape, had a superior physical physique or strength, supernatural powers from a scientific malfunction or mishap, or always carried some sort of scepter to show their extraordinary prominence to ordinary people.

Our Responsibility to the Homeless in our Communities
I found the following on a social app the other day (I have redacted the name of the city for privacy as the concept pertains to way too many cities and towns in our country all grammar errors are from the original poster):

A Year Dedicated to Kindness
Kindness takes many forms, whether large or small. People can often get caught up in the belief that they cannot make a difference in the world because they lack the resources or means, but the truth is even the smallest act of kindness can make a world of a difference. No matter how insignificant it may seem to you at the time, your act of kindness, whether a warm smile, compassionate hug, gift, or donation, can lift others up when they are at their lowest. It can brighten their day and leave them feeling like they matter, that someone truly sees them. The last two years have been brutal for everyone, and everyone can benefit from a little extra kindness.

A lot of people are introverts, but what does that mean?
A lot of people are introverts, but what does that mean? Our brains think of introverts as antisocial, awkward, or shy right away. So if you want to be an introvert, you might want to be a hermit. Most people don't know what an introvert is, though.

With Love
To my hero, I have seen the work you do when no one else seems to care. You give a voice to the people that have long been lost. Ancient stories and artifacts that others want to study, you placed back with their owners. You know our people are not just an artifact and a thing to be studied. You have stressed and fought an uphill battle with museums and peoples that see us as just another number. You fight for the children in our school so they have a voice. You fight for them to have books in our language. You work even when your work should be done.
