Fostering Kindness in 2022
Tech/Virtual Fostering
From 2020 until here in 2022 the masks, social distancing, covid-19 test, and vaccines have all made it just a little easier to work and mingle with other people during the covid-19 pandemic. Well, that's if we get past the shutdown of many gathering places, workplaces, and schools at the start of the pandemic and even still today. There has been so much going on during the pandemic besides the world covid-19 virus crisis. There have been issues such as political and election issues, and social injustice issues. These issues we have been dealing with for years just in the United States alone. The question is how will we mingle and help each other and foster kindness in life after the pandemic?
A great way we can learn how to foster kindness more is through the virtual world. The virtual world has helped me to personally foster kindness to others during the pandemic. I believe the virtual world has been and will continue to help us in 2022 to foster kindness. This has been going on in the virtual world in the past before the covid-19 pandemic and during the covid-19 pandemic. Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, and video chat devices and apps have been awesome ways to help people and for people to mingle with others while social distancing. If you prefer to mingle with others more, then maybe hosting your own "how to help someone with something event" or a "fun free time live event" on a virtual live or youtube channel. During the pandemic, I could be a more productive member of my community by going back to church and school. I learned that there are many ways for people without transportation or little money to attend church or take free or inexpensive classes online by watching a youtube channel or webinar or even on TV. An important thing I figured from this is that it's very important to use earplugs to keep down the noise for others around you. Taking notes when watching your virtual classes is also key. I remembered to reread your notes again and again. Also, take more notes when things change or I learn something new.
The video chat app Zoom has also been awesome for business, community, and gatherings. If you noticed traffic was very light during the shutdown in the pandemic because most people were working and going to school from home. Many working people who have families value their time with their family and dislike the long commutes to work or the heavy traffic on the roads. Zoom has made it possible for community and business gatherings to be done easily from home. There are also other video or virtual chats apps that make it possible for people to gather. This is not only to mingle and have fun but also to handle business affairs. Many social media apps have live features or chat features that allow business affairs to happen in an orderly socially distanced manner. Although some live apps need to have mediators. You can also become a mediator for virtual live events. That would be a good way to foster kindness to block or shoo away rude or overly distracting people that interrupt civilized virtual video gatherings. Sometimes it gets too distracting for the host to block or shoo away rude and distracting people's comments during the meetings.
During the beginning of the pandemic, I found delivery services like Uber, Shipt, Doordash, etc. very helpful in the world of social distancing during the pandemic. One thing I also noticed was religious and community organizations reaching out to people in communities with food and sanitary items during the pandemic using vehicles to help do so. All these things were awesome and helpful to everyone when they needed to get out of the house for food, sanitation, or other essential things. If you are okay being isolated for long periods, then I believe delivery driving would be a great way to foster kindness this year. If you would like to help someone out with getting around town then Uber or Lyft would be a great way to foster kindness in 2022.
Everyone doesn't like being isolated. At least we can still be with each other over the virtual video apps and chats or by bringing someone to an important meeting or appointment. Why not think more about this yourself. How do you plan to foster help and kindness in your community in this year 2022?
