Good Communication
You may walk away from a conversation thinking that was the best conversation you have ever had and attribute it to you and your great communication style. But is it really because of you or is it because of someone that was in the conversation with you? Were you just hyped up and made to feel good because the other person made you feel that way? It can be a deflated feeling to realize you were not the focal point, but the others were. Don’t let that happen though, continue to be proud of yourself. Mainly because it takes more than one to carry on a successful and positive conversation.

What do you gain from caring about what someone else thinks of you?
A friend of mine relinquished the idea that I was a “warrior of light”. I was discussing another friend’s toxic situation (with consent) and they asked if I was ever uncomfortable being around that deep level of negativity and toxicity; my immediate response was “no” because my friend is not toxic but their situation is & they need help. I find people describe me to me as resilient, courageous and incredibly strong; I normally do not perceive myself but I also do not think about those things frequently.

Unemployment spread like fire across Europe, and it seems like it started from the East, but it looked worse in other countries. A more picturesque picture is with people queuing for jobs or benefits, like during the First World War. This time they are queuing indoors on some job sites, but there are many, maybe more than in 1910. Hidden unemployment reached 40%, but those fortunate enough to receive unemployment benefits are a good number. In a few households, 500 euros provides a luxurious lifestyle. Who could have imagined that they would build their lives on 500 euro unemployment benefit? R. attracted a fiancé from even a worse situation, or at least it seemed so. Having a common language was a reason for traveling overseas to meet her. Her parents were intermediate with the authorities, and he was there. Unemployment is nonexistent in their minds. So much was nonexistent that he decided he would make it without her or her parents. The unemployment rate is 40%. This place is a favorite destination for strawberry pickers from other countries. Up to 50% of the unemployed or more are working in agriculture, and on R. I met her abroad while working for a fair-trade institute. O. works in fair trade too. She left her homeland for a work opportunity with better pay for her child, but ended up back as an organic farmer of coffee. One can see an outdated stove behind her back where she cooks for her child. However, a bag of fair trade coffee sells pretty well, above 15 USD on the market. However, she does not appear to have an easy life as a fair trade worker, and she is back in gangster territory. It is well accepted that unemployment causes street violence, but it is good news about it, since violence spreads through young people is rarely mentioned between adults unless it breaks into wars. Do figures like 40% seem high? Not any longer, as pandemics have resulted in similar unemployment figures in all countries, with blacks and other ethnic groups such as Hispanics, Latinos, or other mixed races usually bearing the brunt of the burden... A refugee was unable to get a job because she was walking in a particular way, and it was culturally accepted that a woman or in an organization must look busy. Only about 50% are able to get a job, but people volunteer to help back. More part-time jobs are needed for women, digital training, language jobs, and jobs similar to those in other countries. One issue is a lack of education; one immigrant in Sweden stated that she got a job sorting garbage despite having no Swedish skills, but that after learning Swedish, she plans to become a surgeon. Meanwhile, bills on social media get approved since social media exists and so do its effects, but only in the US. This is a common misunderstanding.

The mirror effect
These days I’ve been feeling pretty good about myself. Complimenting myself, noticing all the traits I appreciate rather than the things I usually criticise. My self-compassion has somehow amplified, and last night in bed I was trying to figure out what happened, what could have possibly triggered such a significant shift. Mind you, I’m not usually too horrible towards myself—though I have definitely gone through episodes where I was—but I am an adept of self-development and have journeyed through many stages from self-hatred to self-acceptance over the years.

Have you ever heard of a couple of real men smiling in trouble, displaying their capacity in distress and proving their bravery under continued misfortune, depriving them of their valuables while nevertheless reflecting a confident face sparkling with a smile? This is referred to as the real power of a smile, inspiring a man or woman to allow there to be no expression of anxiety in any situation, be it normal or abnormal.
