humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Value Your Rare
As members of the rare disease community, it's easy to feel isolated, unheard, invisible and exploited. But the truth is: everyone is rare. All around the world, the people of the rare disease community have united and as a result, we are no longer isolated, ignored, or invisible. It is time that we recognize the value of our collective lived experiences and demand stakeholdership throughout the rare disease ecosystem. The rare disease community has awakened; and through this awakening, the people around the world are empowered to value their stories, experiences, and insights.

WHY DO WE LIE?
Your dog really did eat your homework, and you have no idea who took the last biscuit from the sweet jar. Lying is in your nature, but don’t worry – it’s in the nature of most humans. It’s a technique that has evolved over billions of years, so it turns out you might not actually have that much to feel bad about.

“Mr. Greg”.
I met my “dad” when I was about 10. I never actually called him dad though. I always called him Mr. Greg. Later on down the road , I finally started calling him by just his first name, but by then “Mr. Greg” had become second nature and I caught myself calling him that every now and again. I didn’t really get to know him to much during those first few months that all came later! All I knew was all of a sudden my mom’s boss started coming to all of the football games I used to cheer for and that was that. I never really thought anything of it until I saw how he looked at my mom one day while I was waving those Pom poms around.
