humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Do You Remember Me?
I walked into the shop with my husband. You served us and you looked familiar to me. You asked me many questions, and you gave me that 'I know you from somewhere' look. I recognized you, though I didn't want to say who I was or ask who you were.

The Undeniable Truth.
I Hate it. It hurts to think. I want to sleep. Never wake up. Words that I've said and thought of many times, Words that I wish I could say out loud.. And it's not just these but many others that I cannot say to their faces and it hurts more because of that. The truth is.. I feel like dying but at the same time, I want to live. Thrive. Become successful, and Happy with the love of my life and maybe a child.

Why I think I'm Evolving Into A Tree-Hugging Hippie, In My Middle Age
As a child of the '70s, I was too young to see much of the hippie culture up close and personal. Sure, we watched reruns of shows like All in the Family, where Rob Reiner's character was constantly berated by the conservative racist and bigoted Archie Bunker.

Here are some suggestions for ways to help immigrants and refugees who are relocating to your community.

Me, My Mother, and the Blacktop Between Us
The leaving comes back to me easier—always hovering on the edges of my peripheral, like a stray dog that follows my taillights home in the dark. Mangey and probably floating in flees, but blinking wide, wet eyes up at me. I’ve never had the heart to turn it away with any sort of finality.

United by Division
I have two eyes, two ears, a nose, skin, muscles, veins, hair, teeth, a nervous system, various organs, bones, and a highly developed brain. I have fears, joys, habits, emotions, and feelings. I have the innate ability to learn from my mistakes, but I don't have to. I can literally, physically, and directly impact the environment that I live in, though I often choose to turn a blind eye. I am a monster. I am a healer. I am a force of nature. I am fragile. I am human.
