friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
The Summer of 2016
"It's too cold," I mutter with a genuine irritation. The light droplets of water on my right foot feel electrifying in comparison to the temperature on the rest of my body, regardless of how fast I tried to get the graze of my skin away from our apartment pool. I stand in my rather childish swimsuit, arms crossed, and brows furrowed, the immediate refusal to let myself be devoured by the water the very epitome of my being, or so I thought.

10 Fun Things to Do With Your BFF on Friendship Day (and Any Other Day!)
Your best friend is the one person in the world who fully understands what you like and dislike. Best friends are indeed a blessing, and nothing beats their presence. How Not Giving a Damn What People Think Will Have You Feeling Amazing
There is no greater time in one’s life when that person refuses to give a damn about what others think of them. Sadly, this often takes longer for many people than for others. Some never achieve this wonderful milestone.

The Cribbage Tournament
Non-Fiction - 2,200 words The year was 1991 and we didn't know anything. But we knew we needed to try, so, we found things worth our effort. We were an audacious 12, or as audacious as 12-year-olds can be in rural Wisconsin. Something about audacity requires an audience to be fully realized. There was no one around to realize us, or who had time to dote on us, so we doted on ourselves. We taught ourselves all the games and then got good at our favorites. Jeff and I found cribbage to be of certain stimuli; the combination of math, strategy, and trash talk was too much to ignore. Could it be the perfect game? Well-paced for chatting, or with drinking-as I would later learn. But when I was 12, I was all about winning, and the pride that comes with besting your friends.

The Forgotten Friend
I’m used to being left behind. It’s kind of common for me. I don’t know if people are just afraid to talk about my limitations or walk around eggshells when it comes to accessibility. I wish I knew why. I wish someone would tell me why I’m often left out and not included.

I'm too busy
Hands in the air if you have been guilty of saying to someone that you are too busy or that you've been too busy... I imagine that most people reading this have used that excuse on more than one occasion. I've used it multiple times across my lifetime but not for many years now and this is why...it's f***ing irritating. Everyone is busy and those that use this reason not to meet are to be avoided at best, shunned at most.
