fact or fiction
Is it a fact or is it merely fiction? Fact or Fiction explores relationship myths and truths to get your head out of the clouds and back into romantic reality.
Life. Eclipsed.
Let’s be clear: these transitions did not make me feel like I’m shining; glowing in the dark — maybe. I wanted to be a yuppie. A 16-year-old, born and raised in Moscow, Russia, dominated by my abusive ‘Titanic mother’ who taught me little but crippling dependence on her. Any attempt at gaining independence was severely punished.

Is anything we experience real?
It’s a cool Tuesday morning in October. I’m seated at my wooden desk, enveloped in the smells of perfectly steeped tea and a burning lavender candle. I stare at my empty screen, waiting for inspiration to strike when suddenly, I’m back in my bed. The warmth of my duvet tangled in my legs, the cool smell of the Autumn air in the room. Should I expect that this is reality, or will I soon wake up again? With my dream feeling so undoubtedly real, how can I determine that my conscious reality is not also a dream? What if I am no more than a mind living a dream, being convinced that what I’m sensing is real? René Decartes’ Dream Argument states that it is impossible to tell with certainty that any experience we may have is not a dream. While we may perceive them to be true, it is not wise to trust our human senses, as they tend to fail us.

The Little Black Book of 'Soyuznik'
The Little Black Book of Soyuznik (based largely on actual events) As Special Agent Kline of the St Louis FBI slid the small, well-worn, small black book across the table toward me at the Panera Bread Company in Wentzville, MO, the blank, emotionless faces of both FBI agents left me dry-throated and sweaty-necked. I didn't pick up the book. I didn’t even look at it (except from the corner of my eye). I just stared back at them. They had called me earlier in the day and asked if they could have a ‘private chat’ with me. This happened in June 2014.

Phoenix Phase
Jean Grey my family members began to call me, but that’s not my real name. I go by Rime, that’s what you can call me. Rime Labo. Based on the X-Men character Gambit, his real name was Remy Lebeau. Which is my middle name but it’s spelt differently, pronounced the same.

Ban on plastic: environment vs economy
This study links the prices of plastic bags with changes in consumer attitudes including support for other environmental policies. A study by the National Center for Policy Analysis states that banning plastic bags used by consumers and stores could hurt home sales and increase sales among stores outside the bagless area.

Brett Vs. The Nazi Werewolf Berserker
I had only met her in person ten days earlier, and we were inseparable. Ruby Cardona, 'pirate wench of the gastronomic sea,' was my love, and she fell in love with me the very first night when our bodies were intermingling and I kept making Borat jokes about "mah WIFE!" Three days after we met, I got to meet her four-year-old son when he returned from his biological dad's place, and it was pseudo-step-fatherhood for me at first sight. We loved each other immediately, and it was beautiful. But on that tenth day of meeting, shortly before Thanksgiving Day, 2019, I accidentally proposed marriage.
