B.Y.O.B.?
To be fair, my worst date started with Tinder. That should have been my first red flag. However, my sister had found her own Prince Charming through the notorious dating app, so likely, I thought I could try to find mine. The idea of finding someone and connecting with them through text and conversation sounded easier than putting myself out there in public. And, if we are being completely honest, the rejection is easier that way as well.

How to Make Long Distance Work
Everyone knows that long distance isn't as easy as it appears to be in the films and books. It's actually a lot of feeling lonely and disappointment. Although, once you've learnt to accept that, you can see the good it does for you. I understand that every relationship is different and these tips I'm about to suggest may not work for everyone, however, I personally have found these helpful for myself. So lets jump straight into it.

5 Habits of REAL Dating Millennials Need to Bring Back
It is 2018. With all of the progress we've made in every complicated scientific and technological field since 1950, you'd think we would have progressed in something as simple as dating... right? Oh sure, if a modern hookup culture full of "Wanna chill?" text messages, "hmu" DM's on Twitter, mindless swiping left on faces you find unattractive, and creepy un-wanted Facebook messages is what you call progress... then, yeah, we've made a lot of it. But personally, I find modern dating appalling. As a single 20-year-old living in this warped "Netflix and Chill" dating world, I've had a hard time finding anyone who actually knows how to DATE. I'm talking real dating. I'm talking how they use to do it back before cell phones made real life interactions seemingly impossible, and before finding hookups on dating apps consumed the mind of every teenager and young adult in America. So with that frustration in the back of my mind every day, I decided to compile a list of five "old fashioned" dating habits that we need to start doing again... like yesterday.

I Will Never Forget This Date!
#MyWorstDate Went like this... Back in high school—I want to say my freshman year of high school, to be exact—I went on what I thought would have a been a fantastic date! Now at first, everything was great! I felt great, thought everything was just going perfect for me until I soon had my eyes on a certain guy, who, at the time, was considered one of the "popular" guys. Now, me being "cocky" in high school, I thought it was no problem to show everyone I could land a date with him. By the end of the week from introducing myself and just talking and hanging out during school...I LANDED THAT DATE! I felt like a million bucks & thought I was cool to be going on this date, let me tell you! To top it ALL off, he not only asked me out on a date, but it was a Valentine's Day date! So again, here I am thinking I'm extra special. Boy, who was I kidding....

And 3 Makes Tension
This is the first time that I am putting this story into writing, and it freaks me out a little bit. The person, my co-star, if you will, will never read it, and even if he does, he can’t get ahold of me to yell about it. The reason for that is a different topic than this one; this is about the worst date that I have ever been on. Sadly, this story is 100% true. However, I have changed names to protect the not so innocent; I choose to put my life out there for consumption, they do not. Are you intrigued yet? I hope so because we are about to begin.

26 and Still Up in the Dating Life Mix…Wait, How Do I Date?
Okay okay, I know I'm not the only one. You get on Instagram and five pictures in, I lied, maybe two, someone out there just got engaged! And in the back of your mind, it's always the one person you least expected. Then you're like damn, when am I ever gonna get engaged or married? Onto the next social media of Snapchat because you just realized after scrolling after so many photos on Instagram you realize you started to compare your life and demean yourself for a moment (while also being jealous of everyone's travel pics). Snapchat is cool and all, but it tends to be the same stuff. Someone is out eating, someone is at the gym, someone out there is taking selfies or on some random adventure. But then oh wait, there it is, your friends are out somewhere and you just felt like you weren't invited. The loneliness feeling continues to build. After two hours of scrolling, your eyes are tired and the feeling of missing out and being utterly alone just resides internally. Ahhh, the single life. The life where it is fun because you don't have to tell anyone where you are but sometimes it just feels like there is a void. Maybe it's because ever since we were young the thought of having to be with a significant other was ingrained in our minds.

My Friend Died
For the past few weeks I've been experiencing an incredibly weird sleeping pattern. I can't seem to stay awake much past 8 p.m., then I find myself wide awake around 2 a.m. That schedule makes for an agonizingly long work day, which exacerbates my weird sleeping pattern even further. Last week, I woke up at 1 a.m. and couldn't fall back asleep. I grabbed my cell phone to play a few games of Word for Friends, but unconsciously opened Facebook instead. There a strange post drew my attention.
