The Story I've Told a Thousand Times
I was ten years old when it all started. He was ten years older than me, so, that made him twenty. I was young and did not understand the severity of it all until I was older. It started off small and I never wanted to be near him. From the moment we met I knew something was not right with him. I wish I would have listened to that gut feeling. It had never been wrong before so why did I ignore it this time?

Unexpected Happiness
I married my husband amid Covid-19. It was not planned whatsoever. We have known each other since we were in middle school and this pandemic reminded us that we are living on borrowed time. We talked about marriage very briefly because I was not sure that it was something, I wanted to do but I knew I wanted a future with him. Marriage had always been so weird to me simply because of how it started. The idea of being with someone forever was never the issue, till death do us part does have a nice ring to it.

New Year Resolutions
New Year Resolutions have never been my thing. The older I get the more I start to see that new year resolutions are not there to make you look back at your failures. Most of the time I would set an unrealistic goal that I knew would take a longer than just a year. For example, I started working out, not consistently but I wanted to gain muscle. That was never going to happen until I started to be more consistent.

Young and Kind
Working at a middle school is hard on its own. The year of 2017 I volunteered at a middle school in California. Monday-Friday spending 10-14 hours working, teaching, and creating lesson plans. I was not easy but every day I woke up ready to give 100 percent to each of my students. This was only a one-year commitment so I knew that I could sacrifice a year to help these students. 2017 was not an easy year for my family. No one is ever prepared for the loss of a close family member, let alone four of them. I lost my uncles, two aunts, and a cousin.

What Got Me Through My Heartache
This poem below really got me through my break-up because what I got from it is that not all loves last—not all relationships last. Sometimes, it’s hard to tell which love will last and which ones aren’t meant to last. There are little signs all over the place and we choose to ignore them because they aren’t a big deal, like forgetting how to show he appreciates you every day. Not everyone needs something big, but little things like opening the door for you, giving you a kiss on the forehead before they leave, or even offering to rub your feet because they know you’ve had a long day. Some things are sometimes expected like "thank you" or "I love you," but when someone means it and doesn’t say it as a routine, it’s special. We often forget how to show appreciation through little things every day instead of birthdays, anniversaries, or stupid made up Hallmark holidays.

Learning How to Be in a New Relationship
I am not a romantic person; I don’t do any of the big Hallmark movie gestures or anything. I am so much more of a small gesture person; things people don’t really notice are signs that I love and appreciate them and that has gotten me in a lot of problem. People I used to date used to tell me that they needed more attention, love, or ways for me to show that I appreciated them. I didn’t understand why because it wasn’t like I was doing it on purpose just to spite them, that’s just not me. Or at least I thought it wasn’t me.

Top 5 Cruelty-Free Facial Cleansers
I struggle so much with finding products that work best for and on my skin. I have combination skin, which means that I have both dry and oily skin. Not only do I have dry and oily skin, but I’m also very prone to acne and I get blackheads all the time. I have to find the right balance between hydrating my dry skin and trying to tame my oily skin, it’s not easy. Just last week I tried a face mask that said it was good for all skin types and it burned my skin; redness and it ripped off some of my skin. It was so sad, and I had some scabs around my eyes and cheeks because of it. Finding products that work and constantly changing up the routine is hard and annoying but once you find some products that work and your skin loves, there is no going back. Not all these products are going to work for you, but if your skin is as sensitive as mine, then I would recommend trying some of these products.

Must Watch Shows on Netflix
These are my top five favorite British shows. I really enjoy shows about crime, detectives, etc. Of course, these are not for everyone, but if you like drama and crime then you should really start watching these. They are everything you want in a show and more.

No Makeup Challenge
A year ago, I decided that I would do the “No Makeup Challenge.” I stumbled upon an article about this challenge and a few celebrities participating in this challenge. Instantly, I thought to myself that there was no way I could do that. I always wore makeup, under no circumstances would you ever find me in public not wearing any makeup. I used to spend over $100 a month getting new products and trying new things. Clearly, I was obsessed with putting on a full face every day even if I was just staying in. There was no way I wanted to try this.

Annoying Ex
Things don't always work out and most of the time it's for the best. In my case, it was the best fucking thing to ever happen to me. I didn't realize it at first, but once I broke up with him for the last time, it felt like such a relief; not having to raise a child (my ex), and basically not express my needs because they were less important than his. This guy was a class A douchebag, to say the least. Constantly cheating and lying—just a very manipulative guy.

Lip Balm Addict
I am obsessed with lip balm, I always have been. If you ask anyone who knows me, they will tell you that I won’t leave without lip balm. If I forget it or lose it, I will go to end of the earth to find one. I can’t go more than two hours without reapplying. I LOVE lip balm! Is it an obsession? YES! Is it healthy? Probably not, not so sure but it is a problem. Am I okay with this? Sure, I love it so much I don’t really care. I suffer from dry lips. If I don’t reapply constantly, my lips will start to crust, crack, and bleed. I was always told that it’s because I don’t drink enough water but trust me, I drink more than enough. I pee so much it’s annoying, literally.
