The Offering
James knew exactly where he wanted to take Jenna for this special night. The secluded little cove on Norris Lake wasn’t too far from parking, but a very short walk lead to a private little spot on the lakeshore that was perfectly laid out for a blanket picnic.

Ungrateful
I never knew my Uncle John well. After the sea took him, my teacher Miss Delaney had said he had drunk "too many beers to be steering that boat right." Mr. Dunn said, "he should never have been out there in that storm." But Mrs. Jepsen, from over there on First Street, told me it was because he was not grateful enough for the sea; he never gave it the respect it deserved. "If you don't give thanks for what the sea gives you, all the lost spirits come back for ya," she used to whisper in my ear when I finished raking her leaves, as I sipped warm cider from a mug that read 'Mondays are for the Birds."

The Lake of Time
"Fools tell foolish tales - and to foolish tales, there is no end. They're spun from the same yarn that makes the shaky foundations of that lake in Scotland - supposedly home to a 'monster' that is more an elephant's trunk put digitally - and rather callously - over the surface of an otherwise rather unremarkable body of water; 'Ness-tled' away from the grandeur of much more majestic highlands - and far from memorials of war heroes and castles of folklore. Legends are men and women who fought to achieve greatness, not myths that are blown away by the faintest gust of wind on an otherwise unremarkable night."

Three Blessings
The hand of misfortune fell upon Mabel Moon on Halloween. As she locked her door that morning, she noticed a late rent notice taped to her door. Quickly ripping it down, she pounded down the steps and knocked on the landlord’s door, reminding him she had already paid the rent in cash. Mr. Ryker’s replying smirk told her all that she needed to know. Mabel feared confrontation, so she hurried to work, hoping her boyfriend Russell would have solutions.

The Secret
Nate heard the sound of the shower kick on, Nora was first tonight, but he would be lying if he said he could wait to get clean himself. It had been a fairly busy day, and after a week of working second shift, getting a good night’s sleep was a blessing. He threw on his coat and made his way to the front door. Nate needed a cigarette, even if the weather outside was frightful. An early season nor’easter had decided to blow through, and the wind was howling in the sideways rain.

Visiting an abandoned insane asylum
Everything you are about to read is a true event from my life. I hope you all enjoy it. For starters in Tallahassee, Florida was a hospital called the Sunland Centers. Though I always grew up only knowing it as an insane asylum that catered to mainly children. It was shut down in 1983 due to health, staffing, and overall money issues. Though again as I was growing up one of the big reasons was because many of the doctors were conducting highly unethical experiments on children. So obviously there were ghosts here right? So with that in mind you can see why it was three perfect spot for a group of young people to go visit it in the middle of the night.
