Everything you are about to read is a true event from my life. I hope you all enjoy it.
For starters in Tallahassee, Florida was a hospital called the Sunland Centers. Though I always grew up only knowing it as an insane asylum that catered to mainly children. It was shut down in 1983 due to health, staffing, and overall money issues. Though again as I was growing up one of the big reasons was because many of the doctors were conducting highly unethical experiments on children. So obviously there were ghosts here right? So with that in mind you can see why it was three perfect spot for a group of young people to go visit it in the middle of the night.
Some point in the fall of 2006 right after I had graduated high school me and four other people went to Sunland at about one in the morning. First step was to park my car somewhere that the roaming cop wouldn't see it. Which happened to be across the road hidden behind another small building that happened to be where the doctors used to go on breaks. No exploring there though it was locked up. Second step was crossing the road and finding a hole in the fence to climb under. Once we did that while we were still outside I stopped and offered a small prayer, "I have come to observe not to disturb. I expect you to do the same." With that I caught up to my group who were already inside.
The front lobby was trashed. Anything not bolted down had been broken down. There was graffiti all over the walls. The one weird upside is there were windows everywhere and there was a full moon so no need for lights. Which worked well when all of our phones died while we were still in the lobby. To our right was a door that led to the morgue and to the left were stairs that would take us to the various floors. The second floor had held hyper aggressive adults and floors three and four were for children. We started heading up the stairs intending to check out each of the floors. But when we arrived at the door going into the second floor wing we heard a loud set of bangs. Like someone beating something against a wall. It was more than likely a homeless person looking to scare us off but either way we decided not to investigate.
So we headed for the third floor which seemed to be mostly sleeping quarters. We took our time exploring each room. Many of them still had paintings on the walls of suns, rainbows, and unicorns. Though of course the paint was peeling so that looked pretty creepy. There were still stuffed animals in all of the rooms and occasionally we would hear a little giggle or see a toy shift. I keep walking about ten steps behind people, taking a bit of extra time to look at things. If I remember correctly there were thirty rooms. Pretty much all the windows were busted and the beds were in shreds. The toys honestly were the only things there that looked like they could be kind of new. Someone picked up a ball out of one of the rooms and tossed it down the hall. About two minutes later the ball comes rolling back followed by a loud giggle. No one touched the toys after that. Except for one person who decided to take one home. I'll tell you what happened to them later on.
We went up to the fourth floor now which apparently was a medical/play area. There were four small offices that had various medical supplies. The rest of the floor was eight more rooms that all had various cute paintings on the walls. Blocks and toy trains scattered everywhere. There was also a small balcony that overlooked the courtyard area; it had no railing anymore. One of the people went to stand on it and look down. I told them immediately, "Step away from there. Someone will try to shove you off." At that moment I looked back behind us and saw two spirits. I should say I have seen ghosts through pretty much all of my life so this wasn't uncommon.
But what I was really watching was a looping memory. A child was running towards the balcony in fear. A doctor was following him while holding a needle. I immediately felt some sort of malicious intent coming from the doctor and the child was in fear. I called out to my friend again, "Someone is going to push you off dude. I'm warning you." He didn't listen to me as I watched the child run through him and jump off the balcony. Right as the child hopped up on what used to be the balcony and then jumped off, a gust of wind tore down the hallway and hit the guy in the back. He almost fell over right then and I'll admit I was a jerk and didn't run to help him because well he didn't listen to me.
I told him one more time as he was being pulled back from the edge, "Get away from there or you will fall." I watched the memory finish with the doctor going to the balcony, looking over, and then just shrugging and walking away. Then the memory started to repeat itself. Everyone started complaining about getting chilled so we walked further down the hallway. We took a bit to look through the rest of the rooms. One of them looked like a teaching room. There was a blackboard scribbled with unintelligible writing. We watched a few of the toys move and listened to children giggling. I'll admit everyone handled it far better than I would have given them credit for. But everyone has their limit and so we decided to leave here and go check out the morgue. As we were leaving I paused at one of the small medical offices to watch another memory play out. A doctor was drawing blood from a very sickly looking boy who just kept crying "Help." I shivered a bit from the sight and walked on.
We quickly made our way back to the lobby where we saw that some things had been moved around. Not sure if it was the living or dead who had done it. We then went into the morgue which held no bodies but did contain confirmation of one urban legend. The Hole. It was supposedly a place they would throw noncompliant patients and would spray them with a hose. There was a box with a hose on the wall. We couldn't actually see down into the hole. It was pitch black after about all of five feet. We could hear faint screaming though and I watched another memory play out of a patient being thrown in while screaming "Not again! Not again!" With this now done we decided to leave. As we were leaving I turned back to look at the hospital, "Thank you. I hope you all find peace."
With that we left. Now for the person who took a toy. It was told to ask of us not to take a toy home because whatever child was attached to it would follow you. They would torment your dreams until you brought it back. She made it three days before she snuck back in and returned it according to her.
About ten years later it was all torn down to make space for some new apartments going up. The wing of apartments that stood over where the hospital had been suffered from numerous problems during construction. Even after they were done and opened many people complained about constantly breaking appliances, doors opening or closing, and strange noises. Take that as you will.
