A Date With the Devil
"The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window," whispered the old man. He appeared to be in his sixties. His hair was as long as his beard, white with silver hews and almost wiry in appearance. He had the tattoo of a scythe on his left forearm which made him even more bizarre. However, he always told tales of the town's lore.

The Candle
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night a candle burned in the window. The few neighbors driving past knew what that meant seeing it in the distance as the area was mostly inhabited by locals who lived acres apart on large pieces of land separated by even bigger forests between them. They sped up in their vehicles and instinctively looked away. They ALWAYS looked away from whatever happened on and around that property when a candle was in the window. It was something they ALL had learned to do as a matter of self preservation.

The Box in the Attic
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. The window was high. For years Fallon believed the porthole window was decorative. He had been at this cabin his whole life since he was a child. His parents had built it the day he was born. The winter chill bit deep at his bones as he realized he was alone and he had never lit a candle in the apparent attic. Someone was here.

My Mother Told Me Stories
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. As I crept up the narrow stairway the chilled air brought goosebumps to my skin. The light of the cabin grew further and further away. My feet fumbled on the unsteady wooden stairs. I startled as the wind howled behind the narrow walls. A hand slithered from the shadows and grasped my arm. It was as dark as charcoal and as wispy as a cloud. With fingers so cold they shot through my arm like daggers. I felt the hand wrench me towards the shadows. The thick fog stuck to my arms like viscid honey. Everything went dark. I felt wiry hair scratch at my neck and the sharp nails of the hand dig into my skin. The air was dark but filled with sounds of whispers and shrieks. I pried my free arm out and trailed my fingertips along a cold brick wall. The air grew colder and I shivered as the arm continued to twist and pull. I saw a light. A familiar light, a light like the cabin.

The Hand
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Two dirty and weary children were walking through the tangled woods that night. They had lost the path in the darkness, their faces scraped and their arms bruised from the branches that slapped at them as they fought through the underbrush. No moon or stars lit their way. They were desperate and hungry, when suddenly they saw the light from the window and the black shape of the cabin rising large, right in front of them where it seemed nothing had been a second before.

The Cabin

Ghost At My Sisters House
My wife and I were staying with my sister for the night. The kids had gone to her parents house and having been married with children, we had no So we were hanging with our sister. We’re getting ready for bed and my wife and I were fighting over a single sink as we were brushing our teeth. The door to the hallway was open and I’m staring at myself in the mirror as I brush away. I then see my sister-in-law walk past me wearing a white skirt and pants, not three feet away from me. Mind you, and go down the hallway towards the living room and the kitchen. Now the layer of this House means that anyone and everyone needs to go down this hallway by the bathroom to move between the bedrooms and the kitchen and the living room. So, knowing that my sister-in-law had traveled that way and being kind of * **** I figured I could sneak up on her and scare the crap out of her. So I leave the bathroom and head on down towards the living room. No one is in the living room, so I head sneakily towards the kitchen knowing that this is the only run she could be in. I jump yelling loudly out in the kitchen. And there’s no one there. The only other place she could have gone is out into the garage, so knowing my year would have even alerted her, I walk over to the garage and noticed that the deadbolt is still engaged. I turn the lock open and close it again. Pondering what the hell is going on. Just as I’m doing so, a hand touches my back and I nearly **** my pants. Turning around so violently, I nearly punched my wife in the

The Nine Mile Road
Fade in: EXT. DESERT. NINE MILE ROAD. NIGHT Its dark, quiet. A tumbleweed scuttles across the dry cracked road, lit dimly by a sliver of moonlight. If it was day you would be able to see it looks like an old western town: endless expanse of desert, a gas station and its dull neon sign flickering, a run down motel, a sheriffs building, a diner and a few other buildings and a crooked SMOKY THE BEAR sign reading, FIRE WARNING TODAY: HIGH. Of course, its the fucking desert. Instead we see darkness and the darker outlines of buildings the only light the flickering neon sign and the moonlight. Running through all of it until the eye can't see, THE NINE MILE ROAD. A low RUMBLING breaks the silence of the night as headlights slice through the dark, illuminating the road. An RV ROLLS into the frame.
