The President's Chair
Stage Right: Interior, apartment living room. A man sits slouched on a loveseat facing a TV screen. He is wearing a headset. The muffled sound of yelling tells us that his volume is louder than necessary. The coffee table is filled with books that vary in thickness. Along the back wall we see a light through a door frame with the sound of pots and pans rattling and a woman's voice humming.

Thump
I walked in the backdoor tired from another tough day at work. I enjoy teaching—sometimes—but often it just exhausts me. I’m too introverted for the job; speaking for hours on end makes me want to crawl into my bed, get into the fetal position, pull the covers over my body, and shut off from the world.

The Vampire in the Window
A peculiar man crosses the street in the dark. This far out in the country there are no lamp posts for comfort or guidance. No cars cut through the ink with their headlights far this part of the world is quiet sleepers who turn to their pillows early in the afternoon. So, he moves as a shadow under the moonlight, caught only by the distant porch lights of other houses.

A Favor for a Friend
Caleb heard a soft buzz outside of his window. He slightly opened the blinds to see. A small mechanical drone was dropping off the package. It teetered slightly as the wind pushed it, but found its proper path onto his porch. Caleb stepped outside onto his front porch and looked down at the package.

An Unexpected Gift
Chris saw the drone flying away from his apartment and raised an eyebrow. He hadn't ordered anything, certainly nothing that a drone would deliver, and he came up the stairs two at a time before his crackhead neighbors came out to steal it. Calling them crackheads might have seemed a little disparaging, but Chris had actually come home and found them smoking crack on the front porch, so he thought it more than fair. The Palm Breeze weekly rentals were far from posh, but they were the best he could afford. Chris had a dead-end job that barely paid him minimum wage and hardly worked him part-time these days. He was behind on his rent, looking at ramen noodles for dinner again, and, if he was lucky, he might get halfway through tonight's football game before they shut his cable off.

Ghosts Just Want to Have Fun
California Knotts Berry Farm in Anaheim, California opened in the 1920s. The amusement park has attracted some ghosts that have enjoyed the park so much they have stayed. At Camp Snoopy, which has rides for smaller children, strange noises have been heard and lights turn on and off by themselves. Around some of the rides, the spirits of a maintenance employee and a young boy appear. Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant and The Teddy Bear Store have resident ghosts. At these places, items move all by themselves and things fall from shelves. Phantom footsteps can be heard as well as disembodied voices.

Yaga
We drove up the snowy, winding road towards the cozy A-frame cabin. The forest was in a liminal state: caught between the dying throes of autumn and the birth of winter. A cascade of fiery leaves rode the wind whilst flecks of snow floated softly down onto the dirt track road. The A-frame cabin was of medium size, nestled amongst the trees.

Haunter: Ghost-for-Hire (Chapter 01)
Chapter One The house on Shilbert Lane is priced too good to be true. It’s old, a little rundown, and mossy tufts hang from the gutters and porch railings. Paint peels off like dead skin and the door hinges scream like a banshee. But as much as Jeremy Clive searched during due diligence, the only questionable issue about this long-abandoned house was that some husband murdered his wife in the nineteenth century. The woman’s spirit had since lingered in malice. In other words, superstition cheapened the property. It’s “haunted.” To the practical and agnostic, it's a perfect opportunity for flipping. Jeremy Clive stumbled upon a great investment.

Ding Dong
It all started with a text from "UNKNOWN" that read, "Ding Dong". WTH, I thought. Then the sound of my doorbell made me jump. I pulled up the video feed of my surveillance cams, and I got a fleeting glimpse of a drone backing away from my doorstep.

Hidden Containment
Middle of the night on the front porch lays a wooden box that has a history to it, just by looking at it. Living in the middle of nowhere, where the post office or even any online delivery services are unable to reach. No known neighbors close by or any human able to connect with.
