A Halloween Horror Tale
In the obscure realm of forgotten legends and hidden horrors, Hollow Grove Mansion stood as a silent sentinel, its menacing silhouette haunting the very heart of the forlorn woods. It was a house that dared to defy time itself—a decaying relic of a dark history that had long been eclipsed by shadows.

a ghost story
One day, a tale of ghosts emerged, sparking beliefs and skepticism among individuals. Neela, positioned between the two camps, adamantly dismissed the existence of ghosts and disembodied spirits. She frequently admonished the children of the household, challenging the notion of ghosts: were they truly real? Why did people ghost? What was the rationale behind their fear?

Harrowed
They sit across from each other, one man, one woman. The man has a knife in his hand which he is using to cut slices from an apple and then with it, feeding himself the slices. He holds the knife out to the woman, an apple slice sitting atop it. Her mouth is watering visibly but she shakes her head and curls her lip up into a sneer. She doesn't want anything from the man.

Haunted House Series- Comfort Food
"Do you have to go out tonight?" she asked, sounding plaintive as he came out of the bathroom. George looked a little silly in his running clothes, the combination still making him look a little like a beach ball even months after he'd started running in the evening. He had been checking his weight on the bathroom scale and the news was dire, as it always seemed to be. The dial had spun around and for a moment he had been hopeful that it might show improvement. He had been running for nine and a half months, despite his mother's protests, and every time he stepped onto the scale he prayed it would show him some improvement.

Scout's Honor
This was a new addition to my bookshelf, and my growing TBR pile, that was bought on a whim during an unscheduled (and quite unnecessary) trip to the bookstore. This particular book happened to be on one of the display tables around the store, and I’m a sucker for a good book display, so I grabbed myself a copy and, after some more browsing and selecting, made my way to the cashier with a small stack of books wrapped in my arms. I’m not entirely sure why, perhaps something intuitively sank its hooks in me, but I knew that this was a book that I needed to begin right away. After more than 150 pages in one night, I was captivated, engrossed, and frankly horrified, but I couldn’t seem to put it down.

A lunatic moon
Chapter 14 - Just a dream Monday, September 3rd, 1984. The next week went quickly. Everything seemed about going back to school. They had to get back to school clothes. They had to get new gym shoes. Kevin and Bobby and James all got their hair cut for back to school. Danny didn't want to and his parents didn't push it. Before they knew it they were back in school in homeroom getting their class schedules. They all hooked up with friends they hadn't seen since before summer and some that they had seen occasionally over the holidays. Some of Danny's friends wanted to know what he'd been doing for the past month. These were people that he used to go into town and hang out with on a regular basis until he'd found Mike's body. Rumours were already going around about him getting arrested. He figured it must be coming from Gord Bennett because his brothers had sworn to their parents not to talk to anyone about what Danny had been through. A lot of people that didn't know, were shocked when they heard about Mike Vansickle and Julie Gifford. In fact there was another local teenage girl who had gone missing way back in the middle of May, before school had let out, but they were just hearing about it now. She had never been found either. The cops thought she might have run away. She'd been having problems at home. Danny had other ideas about her disappearance.
