October Nights
The air is crisp and cold. The wind brushes the leaves against my cheek. A cool autumn night, and a bright full moon. I'm walking home from the library in town, although I live on the other side of town, but it's not too far if I cut through the woods. I've never been afraid of walking through the woods at night, but this is the first time walking while there is a full moon. However, tonight especially, it gives me the comfort I need knowing that there's always some light in the midst of darkness. Who would've thought that walking alone at night could be so peaceful. Just the sound of the leaves crunching beneath my feet, the wind whispering, and the trees sawying back and forth. Suddenly, a fog just happened to roll in. As I continue further walking, the fog gets so thick, I can barely see. I hear a twig snap, making me jump a bit. I turned around to see what it was, but I can't see a thing in this thick fog. It was probably just a squirrel or a rabbit nearby. Where the heck am I now? It never really takes me this long to get back home. Looking at my cellphone for the time, it's 10PM. Great, my phone just died, so much for using my flashlight. I hear another twig snap, I jolt my head, making my neck crack. That really hurt. But the twig snap sounded really close, and quite frankly, pretty loud. As if it was a huge animal stepping on a fallen branch. I shrugged it off. At this point I just wanna get home. Trying to pick up my pace, as of now, my walking turned into speed walking. I hear another snap, right behind me this time. I stopped dead in my tracks, can't even see my own breath in this sheet of fog. Everything fell silent now. The wind stopped, the trees stood tall and still. What is going on tonight? Right behind me, an eerie sound. Like a large animal, growling. I slowly turned around, trying not to get myself scared. I hear the growling, but I don't see it. I tried to look a little closer, and I never thought I would see something so horrifying. All I see, bright eyes, like amber. It snarled, I can see it's sharp teeth, as if it was trying to smile. It's eyes met mine, and I'm only 5'5". That's when I knew how big this thing is. As soon as it took one step close, I bolted running. I can hear it chasing me, but I still can't see where I'm running to through this fog. All that's going through my mind is get out of these woods and somewhere safe. I can now see the edge of the woods, and a streetlight. My legs are throbbing from running. I rushed out into the middle of the street, I turned around, that thing, it stopped. I took a minute to catch my breath. Looking into the woods, it's steeped in fog. Where did it go? It stopped chasing me. That's odd. I'm just glad that I was able to find the road. I turned around to start walking, and bumped right into this gentleman standing right behind me.

Sanya
With a wince, Sanya rolled over to the edge of the bed to sit up with the taste of blood still lingering in his mouth. Prodding around his torso concernedly, he found that Jofre had left him severely bruised with at least three broken ribs from what he could currently assess. As he became vertical, his head swam and his vision flashed as he rubbed his face while letting out a raspy groan. Sitting there looking at the dried blood on his hands, Sanya wondered why he had not built up the courage to leave as a dull ringing overwhelmed his hearing.

Testimony
[water damage, indecipherable] ...morass made for poor travel, as my men quickly found out. The wains and wagons were the first to become grounded in the mires, sinking with a sickening wet squelch as they fell further into the muck. Many were left behind. We could not risk waiting to recover them, nor their crews.

The Evil Haunted Forest
"Come on, get it done!" Adam told the gaming screen, even though he knew it couldn't hear him. He was fed up, he had been stuck indoors for weeks with nowhere to go. Jesse and Tom had decided to go on a housework mission of which Adam agreed to, but he didn't realize it was going to take 6 weeks! He threw the controller on the floor, annoyed at the fact he had lost the damn game again, he stomped out of the room in a mood slamming the door behind him.

Red Blood, Black Skin and The Blue Sweep
Red blood, Black skin, and “The Blue Sweep”. My big sister was my hero. Back in those days when I still literally looked up to her, she was my Fearless Leader in our summer exploits. Five years my senior, it took a long time for me to pass her by 3 inches in height, as well as miraculously close the intellectual gap by finally meeting up with her in the faraway land of “grown up”. But back then I idolized her. When she would deign to break away from her fascinating older friends who talked about boys (what on earth did they do with THEM? It all sounded squishy and complicated) to come out into the sunshine to play silly childhood games with me, my heart would soar. I was 8, she was 13. I would happily be her Robin if Batman would only come out of her groovy teenage Batcave. Today, she did, despite the fact that these days our number one focus was on survival. We rarely played anymore. Survivors don’t have time for child’s play.
