fiction
Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
The Last Vacation
A quick note: This is the 3rd part on a continuing story. Links to Parts 1 & 2 are below. Jenna was startled by the sound of her heel striking pavement. She’d been walking in sand for miles, and had been paying no attention to the changes in the terrain. She’d been softly singing an old tune from some long-gone animated Christmas show: Something about getting home by putting one foot in front of the other foot. “Soon you’ll be walking here or there or whatever the hell and what’s this from and why in God’s name won’t it get out of my head?” She had visions of something, possibly Claymation. Was it Santa Claus? Who knew?

Vampirism
Vampirism. Tis a parasitic thing, not a thing of beauty. To feed on others to live, living then means taking from others. Burying what life you knew prior, always running from life to live. Always anew but never fresh, just mantled from the rotten leftovers of the begotten times lingered for forgotten losses. Stirred and stored eternal, meals which the anti-infinity, the black sea of awareness, gobbles by the globules.

REALMS OF SOLARIDE: Lucien's Wrath
Foreword: Realms of Solaride: Lucien's Wrath, will be a Fantasy Horror Story by Independent Author, Joseph Roy Wright. It will be my first attempt at writing a Medieval Fantasy adventure, with a lot of Horror elements. I do not intend for this to be a whimsical adventure with elves and fairies, but more a dark underworld full of foul creatures from horror fiction; such as Vampires, Werewolves and Zombies, etc. Magic will still exist in this world, with Wizards and Witches, but it is intended for a more adult/Gothic audience. With this said; I hope you enjoy this prologue!

What Happens At A Party...
*This story is a continuation of “Somebody is Always Watching, which can be found here* It had been one month. One month since my friends decided to take the money. One month since the mysterious man inserted himself into my life. Some days, he was all I could think about. I thought of the devilish grin, and his last words to me that still chilled me to my core. “Somebody is always watching”.

Heirloom
No one expected Father to murder my family. By all accounts, he was an honest man who loved his family, worked hard, and had a heart of gold. When they interviewed his colleagues, they said he always wore a smile that lit up the room. I answered those questions in the same way.

Sophie's Stars
The stars shone extra brightly that night. Sophie stared in wonder out her bedroom window. The glass was nearly completely transparent from her mom cleaning it earlier as a treat. She nearly jumped out of her skin at the eerie sudden hooting of an owl. Man, I love this place!

Mor(t)ality Preview
Entry #26 January 15th I tried again but no sound, except for when Thirgood has a fit. He’s got eyes just like mine, Sec too. I’m scared for these boys. I don’t know what to do without my voice, without a road to walk on. I can’t get out of this rocker until someone calls for me. I can’t do wrong if I’m not doing much of anything, but I’ve been doing nothing for way too long. I put my ear up to the wall one last time, listening for it. Nothing. The only thing left for me to listen to is this rifle, hoping it’s voice doesn’t ring in the echo.
