The air is crisp and cold. The wind brushes the leaves against my cheek. A cool autumn night, and a bright full moon. I'm walking home from the library in town, although I live on the other side of town, but it's not too far if I cut through the woods. I've never been afraid of walking through the woods at night, but this is the first time walking while there is a full moon. However, tonight especially, it gives me the comfort I need knowing that there's always some light in the midst of darkness. Who would've thought that walking alone at night could be so peaceful. Just the sound of the leaves crunching beneath my feet, the wind whispering, and the trees sawying back and forth. Suddenly, a fog just happened to roll in. As I continue further walking, the fog gets so thick, I can barely see. I hear a twig snap, making me jump a bit. I turned around to see what it was, but I can't see a thing in this thick fog. It was probably just a squirrel or a rabbit nearby. Where the heck am I now? It never really takes me this long to get back home. Looking at my cellphone for the time, it's 10PM. Great, my phone just died, so much for using my flashlight. I hear another twig snap, I jolt my head, making my neck crack. That really hurt. But the twig snap sounded really close, and quite frankly, pretty loud. As if it was a huge animal stepping on a fallen branch. I shrugged it off. At this point I just wanna get home. Trying to pick up my pace, as of now, my walking turned into speed walking. I hear another snap, right behind me this time. I stopped dead in my tracks, can't even see my own breath in this sheet of fog. Everything fell silent now. The wind stopped, the trees stood tall and still. What is going on tonight? Right behind me, an eerie sound. Like a large animal, growling. I slowly turned around, trying not to get myself scared. I hear the growling, but I don't see it. I tried to look a little closer, and I never thought I would see something so horrifying. All I see, bright eyes, like amber. It snarled, I can see it's sharp teeth, as if it was trying to smile. It's eyes met mine, and I'm only 5'5". That's when I knew how big this thing is. As soon as it took one step close, I bolted running. I can hear it chasing me, but I still can't see where I'm running to through this fog. All that's going through my mind is get out of these woods and somewhere safe. I can now see the edge of the woods, and a streetlight. My legs are throbbing from running. I rushed out into the middle of the street, I turned around, that thing, it stopped. I took a minute to catch my breath. Looking into the woods, it's steeped in fog. Where did it go? It stopped chasing me. That's odd. I'm just glad that I was able to find the road. I turned around to start walking, and bumped right into this gentleman standing right behind me.
"Are you ok?" He asked. He was quite tall, and lean. Looks like he works out, just from bumping into him. Cute though, sharp jaw line, fluffed black hair, and his eyes. Wow, I've never seen eyes like his before. They were like a soft light brown, almost gold. "I'm Scott. You look like you're out of breath." He said as he puts his hoodie over my shoulders. "I'm fine, just spooked. My name is Jane." Shaking his hand, wow, firm grip. Scott had asked me if he could walk me home, and I couldn't say no. I felt safe knowing someone is with me. Walking back he asked me some personal questions that I wasn't particuratley comfortable answering. He stopped me by grabbing my shoulders. His grip kept getting stronger, feels like he's going to brake me. Then, that's when I noticed. His eyes, started changing. They looked amber, just like the beast that chased me out of the woods. I had no words, paralized in place and terrified to even scream for help. Next thing I know, he opened his mouth, his teeth grew sharp. Last thing I remember, darkness...Dead.
