fiction
Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
Tea by Candlelight
I live alone, but the house always feels even more quiet and empty just after guests leave. This evening, I had friends over to have dinner and a couple of glasses of wine. Now they’ve gone, the place is so silent it’s oppressive. The unhindered quiet is like a weight on my chest. Sometimes I feel like I’ll suffocate.

Hallow's Creek Road
Hallow’s Creek Road By: Santina D’Angelo-Loppie “People once believed that when someone dies, a crow carries their soul to the land of the dead. But sometimes, something so bad happens that a terrible sadness is carried with it and the soul can't rest. Then sometimes, just sometimes, the crow can bring that soul back to put the wrong things right.”

The Hidden Vanity
We go through time carrying special items that have sentimental value to us. There are times when some of these items get left. There are certain items that can hide in the shadows waiting to show themselves to just the right person. The lively objects that carry a great deal of information wait through time searching to find their person. These objects allow the person or persons that they have chosen to discover them. Once the person discovers the item, it begins to show the stories that they have gathered over the years. The item does not show its tales to the person all at once or at the very start. After giving the new owners time to settle with them they begin to show one story at a time. When an item has chosen its new owner, it has already begun to take in their story to add with the other collections of stories. The items do not normally share their owner's own personal stories with them. In this story, we have a writer named Allen who discovers a new story with a very specially matched twist to the end.

Cassandra
"Oh god, yes, right there!" Erin said. Cassandra pressed her fingers at the oiled skin of Erin's exposed backside. The soft crackle of the fire that was heating the small cabin they had rented was echoing in the room around them. Erin had volunteered herself to Cassandra as a "practice" course for her masseuse license that she had been studying for. Cassandra was all too happy to take advantage of the offer and had laid out a few towels for Erin to lay upon to make the experience more enjoyable for her.

Only Child
The house was old, it made all kinds of sounds at night, in the dark. Emily had hated the house at first and pleaded with her parents to move back to the city. It was an adjustment, something she would get used to, at least that is what her parents kept telling her. They assumed it was trepidation that played into their young daughter’s anxiety. They had left behind most of what she knew, like her school and friends. They understood it was scary, but they promised that she would come to love their new home and the school that she’d be attending in the fall.

Return of the Mothman
In the year 2009. Jason Rivers had arrived in Mason County to shoot the next episode of his web series. He was a content creator that had made a name for himself by doing solo investigations of mythical creatures. He had made dives looking for the loch ness monster and countless hikes looking for the elusive Sasquatch. He would usually stay on location 3 nights to get enough footage and action to cover a 20-minute episode. His audience insisted that he go after more mythical creatures. That is what he was doing here. He had amassed the audience he had because he listened to his audience. He wanted to give them what they wanted. Mason County was home to the Mothman. A creature that first appeared in the sixty’s and was credited for taking down a bridge that killed 46 people. This was a creature that brought bad luck to the people that saw it.
