Voodoo Dues
CHAPTER 4 Black shirt with black tie, or white shirt with black tie? The decision seemed insurmountable, agonizing even. It had consumed my morning. I stood as I had for the last hour, in front of the full length mirror, the two shirts in question on hangers, one in either hand.

The Ward
It was a sad day for all involved. The Willard family crypt welcomed another two family members into its cold marble embrace - victims of an apparent murder-suicide that had left little Jenna Willard orphaned, and unable to speak about what she had witnessed. People paid their respects, told her they were sorry, and left. Someone had suggested that, given the circumstances, a wake would be inappropriate.

Creatures Of The Dark
The city seemed quiet and empty. Yet there’s a distinct emotion hanging in the air as the sun sinks below the horizon. It wasn’t just the stone streets void of nimble feet from all paths of life. None stood at where the stalls used to be; showcasing a plethora of fruits, vegetables, items and other things that festooned the stalls. Lights mingled in the joyous space, encasing the looming cathedral in a dazzling array of warm colors. The cackles, the cheers, filled the air and the square too reveled in the contagious atmosphere.

Dream of Xanthos
She was alone in the rain. Her thick flowing hair was weighing on her shoulders as she gazed across the manicured lawn. Her face was the color of ash. She possessed a solemn constitution as she realized what she must do. Her heart was beating like a drum. She licked her lips and tasted the moisture collecting upon them, yet her throat felt dry and hoarse as if she had been screaming for hours.
