fiction
Horror fiction that delivers on its promise to scare, startle, frighten and unsettle. These stories are fake, but the shivers down your spine won't be.
Dark web
I was 15 years old back when this happened. I was surfing through the internet, watching Naruto Shippuden when I heard a beep sound mid episode. Minimizing the screen, I discovered that there was a chat box for people who were fans of this anime. Someone had just posted a link in it and that’s what the notification sound was about.

The Dream
It always starts the same way. I'm already running, but from what, I don't know. Every time I look behind me, there’s nothing there. I also don't know why he—she, it, whatever—is chasing me. I am a big guy. 6 feet, 300lbs. I want to stop and find out, or maybe even fight it. But I can't. I'm too scared and when I'm scared, everyone should be. So I’m running. Running through the park first, then the field where everyone plays catch or fetch with the dog, and then through the playground equipment.

Marie's Choice
On a chilly, windy night on the north end of Chicago, no street lights, just darkness due to the blizzard. Marie stayed in a lovely little loft decorated with the finest silks and embroidered furniture from over seas, some pieces seemed more ancient than others but nonetheless they were true gems. Marie had traveled the globe wanting more and more items to collect for her lovely loft, one that she spent countless hours trying to perfect. One ding, two dings and the elevator comes up, there was a man with a dark green fleece and wool beanie hat, he called her name more than once with a slight cough to follow, "Marie, I have a gift for you, my love. I think you'll really enjoy it", he spoke. Marie graciously walked out of her bedroom towards the gentleman in wonder. The gentleman pulled out a silver box with a bronze key attached to it, a box that Marie thought resembled one from her youth. " Thank you Jimmy" she stated as she reached out to grab the gift, Jimmy held back the box a while and wondered if she truly knew what was in the box. "Marie, do you remember this", he questioned while holding the box firmly, Marie was confused on to what Jimmy was asking. "It reminds me of a box I once had back in Russia, my husband had given it too me before his death", she stated. Her mind was puzzled on to how Jimmy could have possibly gotten a hold to a box that was years old, as he was just thirty years old.

The World Is Now A Snow Globe
Playing on the steps of the porch was a young girl. She held in her hands the most beautiful little snow globe, complete with a little town and it’s own tiny forest and makeshift lake. She would shake it, stirring up the glittery white powder within and letting it flurry around in the globe in dizzying patterns, enthralled with the way it seemed to look so real.

When will it end
The stabbing pain in my back never went away since that day, i am not sure how long it has been since then. Ever since I was taken, beaten and tortured i have been held captive in some stone cold room with no sunlight. There is nothing to sleep on and definitely no human contact unless he comes. Food is far between and i cannot remember the last time i saw anything but darkness. I am not sure if my friends are alive or not i have not heard or seen them since their screams rang in my ears for help. He will not give me any relief or comfort, not until i give in and join his way of life.

cat-scratch fever
Chapter 1 The cat-scratch fever was taking its time transforming her into a creature of the night, searching for more than the irony taste of mouse blood to fill the void of her past life. Wandering the empty neighborhoods late at night was something she was getting used to, as was her increasing awareness of the world around her. Being homeless wasn’t a worry anymore; she was perfectly fine finding a small dark place to lay her head.

Voodoo Dues
CHAPTER 3 Rene’s SUV was still sitting across the street from the bar when I arrived. I pushed the door buzzer chanting a mantra in my head, ‘Don’t look, don’t look!’ Lian answered the door looking more than rumpled. He had no jacket or vest on, his sleeves were pushed up to his elbows, his dark hair stuck up at odd angles like he’d been running his hands through it all night. He hadn’t shaved, the stubble looked like he was a quarter of the way to a full beard. Even his girly eyelashes couldn’t dent the masculinity of the morning’s look.
