Cat Scratch
Cat Scratch is one of those spooky games kids play at sleepovers. Some examples of the spooky games are Bloody Mary, Candy Man, and the Ouija board. Although this game does not cause an evil woman to come into your mirror or demons to enter your house, if done correctly this game can still generate a good scare.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Beyond The Black Rainbow' (2010)
The FUCK did I just watch? I think this movie was trying to give it's viewers the residual sensation of prison rape. Seriously, this movie was fucked up. It's like the director would do a hit of acid, viciously beat off until unconscious, write down what he dreamt about, then made a fucking movie about it.

Rope
Jay was a normal kid. An absolutely, completely normal kid. I'm not sure why that happened... but I do know, the day we learned that Jay Martin was found strung up in a fucking oak tree in the park, the entire neighborhood wept. Jay made average grades, played trumpet in the band, and had average looks—absolutely nothing about him was special. Nothing really made him a target. He was just a genuinely nice kid.

Why Buffy Should Have Ended up with Spike
I’d love to simply say Spike is the best and leave it at that. I won’t do that, as much as I’d like to. Fans will be asking: "What about Angel?" while non-fans will be asking: "Why?" I’m going to answer both of those questions. I’m going to look at all of Buffy’s relationships. What they were based in, how they worked, and why they ended up not working. Safe to say, I will have to go into some detail. So a spoiler warning is in effect for those of you who haven’t seen the show.

Halloween Villains Explained Part 1
"Ave Satanas." Anyone keeping up with the newest season of American Horror Story will be very familiar with this phrase. Uttered by Damien, I mean Michael, at the conclusion of a steamy ritualistic scene in the third episode, the audience finally hears someone hailing the dark lord for the first time in the show’s run (minus the bogus line dropped in the trailers leading up to the season’s premier).

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'The House October Built' (2014)
Oooookay, what can I say about this movie that I haven't already said about Shaky Camera in general... This was bad, and really, it shouldn't have been. If you haven't seen Digging Up the Marrow, watch that instead. Digging Up the Marrow gets this concept right where this movie gets it consistently wrong. I get that mockumentaries technically have to be done with a shaky camera, but Jesus-fucking-Christ. When I dubbed the 'Found Footage' genre as shaky camera, I was trying to mock the concept, not inspire it. You can't just giggle the camera around and hope it will fill in for a lack of atmosphere. I mean, fuck, you're shooting mostly out of haunted house attractions. These people basically made your fucking atmosphere for you, so what exactly is your excuse?

The Genius of 'Paranormal Activity'
Following its 2009 release, Paranormal Activity caused a boom of found footage films, a boom that just now appears to be ceasing, a decade later. The majority of these films have been terrible, hence it’s easy to look back at Paranormal Activity and think of it as nothing more than another mediocre found footage horror.
