A Benevolent Touch
James Price had been a very naughty man up until karma had finally taken it upon itself to collect. He'd spent most of his days working at a minimum wage job, which barely left him with enough money to pay his bills, and at night, that's where his desperation tested his self-control. He tried to tame his criminal nature, tried to progress more than society allowed him to for someone of his skin color. But it seemed everything around him, from the dirty dishes in his sink, to the eviction notices on his door were just reminders of the ropes tied around his wrists and feet keeping him from doing better than he'd ultimately been taught.

Why 'Nightmare on Elm Street' Is the Best Slasher Franchise
Slasher films were all the rage back in the 80s. From the late 70s through the mid 90s, that was the format of horror movies. This was also the time of the horror sequel. Horror movies were becoming franchises, rather than just one offs. The most famous being Halloween, Friday the 13th, and of course, A Nightmare on Elm Street. If we include the crossover with Friday the 13th, they made eight Nightmare films over the course of 19 years. Now let’s take a look at why Nightmare far surpasses its peers.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'John Dies at the End' (2012)
This movie was fan-fucking-tastic. I'm not sure what to label it under though. I mean, it is supposed to be horror comedy, but it's actually more like your classic Terry Gilliam film. Many elements of it are intended to be horrific, or unsettling, but then, Time Bandits was no horror, Barron Munchhausen was no horror, even as much as they occasionally included the horrific, gory, or disturbing. This movie was meant to be fantastic. It was meant to be all levels of weird necessary to make the viewer uncomfortable, and yet keep them interested... Like a virgin at a strip club really.

Can Things Be Possessed?
We all know about Annabelle and Chucky but is there a true story behind these movies? There are people who believe that they can transfer their spirit into an object at any time, dead or alive. It is actually more common that spirits can haunt an object than possess it. I believe that is what happened in the case of Annabelle the doll. It is also common for objects to be cursed.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of "Citadel"
This was under zombie movies on Netflix, which is a bit of a misrepresentation. I wouldn't say the creatures in this movie aren't zombies, more like demons. Not really a spoiler, they get up close and personal with them pretty quick.

You Are What You Eat
Have you ever had a wet dream about pork sausage links or bacon-wrapped meatloaf? If so you might be like our stud Chuck Mcdonald. He is a lovely man who's dating profile says, “Country man with salt-pepper hair. Tall, dark, handsome, and weighing in at six hundred pounds.” Chuck lives at home with his mother and together they own and run a pig farm. To be honest, you can’t tell the two animals apart. His addiction isn’t heroin or any drug like that, but grease, it was his aphrodisiac. Chuck is not a jolly Saint Nick, instead he is a bitter man just looking for his next meal, who can make anyone lose their appetite and puts a new definition to the phrase, “You are what you eat.”

The Evolution of Vampires in Film and Television. Top Story - October 2018.
In this day and age, vampires are seen as romantic figures—these beautiful, misunderstood creatures that we can’t help but fall in love with. This wasn’t always the case, though. Vampires used to be something that terrified us, that gave us nightmares. How did that change? I won’t be going into the why, but rather the how. There have been many vampire films and TV shows over the years. This is a look at their progression—their evolution from terrifying monsters to creatures we love and lust after. There are far too many to go through all of them. I will be looking at the big ones that were either very well known at the time of their release, or mark a change from what had been done before.

The 5 Best Films to Watch to Learn Horror Filmmaking (Part 7)
This is Part 7, so if you haven't seen the other six parts, I would click on my name on this article and view them. You don't have to view them in order, but know that there are six other sections. I hope you're watching as much of the genre as you can. I've always maintained the idea that you need to watch as many horror films as possible in order to learn as much as you can about the craft.
