Age of Fear
There is one thing that everyone in the population shares: Fear. Fear can take many forms to focus on a particular paranoia such as nuclear destruction, climate change, fear of foreigners, etc. But why do we have this desire for fear? A recent Rolling Stone article about our “age of fear” notes that most Americans are living “in the safest place at the safest time in human history.” (PBS) In our world today, not only is household wealth on the rise, but also the average lifespan and education. Violent crime and extreme poverty are at an all-time low since 1991. (PBS) Before our current technology and social media outlets, rumors and press coverage would fan the fires. But now, in our age of technological advances, the three F's race instantly through entire populations. Those three F's: Fears, fads, and fantasies. Do you remember the clown scare back in 2016? Everyone was on high alert for anything to protect themselves from the clown. Two years later, we now have a new fascination that scares us.

3 AM (Prologue)
Cybil I bit into my cheek as the screams of the girl in the next room shattered the near silence that the asylum was wrapped in. She was checked in about five years ago, I guess, and it's been the same nonsense, every single day with the screaming and the rattling of the bed. This bitch was actually about to make me deserve to be here. I stared at the empty darkness waiting for—THUD!—exactly that. Only the devil himself knew exactly what usually went on in that room and in everyone's head at this place.

4 Reasons Why the 'Child’s Play' Franchise Is the Best Horror Franchise Today
As we all know, the Chucky franchise has been alive for 30 years now and has kept quite a reputation with its audience. As the horror film writer/director Don Mancini continues to push this universe to a broader scale, the franchise appears more open for opportunities. After the announcement of a TV series in continuation of the franchise in the works, there’s a lot of anticipation for this to happen being that the events in the latest Chucky film, Cult of Chucky, proves it. This is sheer evidence that Chucky is very much alive and still has room for growth. As of right now, Chucky is the only conscious classic horror icon today that fans expect to expand in terms of film/series. The truth is... Chucky isn’t going anywhere for a while, even with that pointless remake in the works. Regardless of how unsubstantial the Child's Play remake may be, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Chucky is totally done for. As long as the story in the original remains fresh and eventually comes into fruition, then the franchise is in a safe place. I have plenty of reasons why the Child’s Play franchise is indeed the best horror franchise today, but for now, four good doozeys will do. Hopefully you’ll understand why Chucky deserves to be on screen a while longer.

Quia Janua Inferni (Gates of Hell) (Pt.1)
Vigorous wind blustered through the skeletal trees. Embracing the tomb in vine framework tombstones lay awry towards the abandoned mausoleum untouched for centuries. Terse strands of dead grass surrounded the tomb as if a shock of power had struck the once holy ground. Latin inscriptions were engraved across every inch of the gateway to keep the passage into hell sealed, and the darkness that lurks beneath within. Spirits of demons and lost souls have been held hostage for years incarcerated in the catacombs inner parts unable to roam this earth. And if you listen closely enough through the cracks on the sepulchre door you can even hear their squaws, like a trapped bird calling for help.

Haunted St. Louis Cemetery
I tried to write normal articles, but that isn’t me. So, I am back to writing what I love most: The spooky, the haunted, and the downright scary. I’m starting with the haunted St. Louis Cemetery, located in St. Louis, Missouri, of course—okay, it's actually located in New Orleans. It is touted to be the most haunted cemetery in New Orleans, which says a lot about a city that is already rich in voodoo and the supernatural.

The Cold
I've always loved Alaska. So much to see, and touch, and hunt. The mountains know me by my voice. I whisper to them, and they whisper back. Only I can touch their unmoving stone faces. I forge crowns of ice for the highest ones, make them even more proud, even more deadly.

Death Valley Road
It all started on a hot summer day. I’m so lost; they say take the road less traveled but that leads to a dead end, down a lonely dark cold road with no outlet. I turn around but my vision is blocked by a blinding light; if I go back the way I came, I would have to feel my way as the light is so blinding. Stuck in a heart drenching situation staying on this road with no outlet, or turning around to the blinding light that was not there when I traveled down the road less traveled. No phone service to call for help, tears begin to roll down my eyes; I feel my fate for taking this road less traveled. No signs of human existence or even a ounce of water. I began to yell at the top of my lungs until I can't yell anymore; I drop to the ground in disbelief, or maybe delusion; to my eyes, appear a serpent.

Movie Review 'The Drone'
The Drone is one of the silliest nonsense horror movies of recent memory. The film ranks next to movies like Zombeavers or the Korean horror movie, The Wig, which features killer hair extensions, as a movie with a dopey beyond dopey premise. The Drone features exactly what the title promises, a drone. Only this particular drone happens to have the spirit of a dead serial killer inside of it.
