Paranormal West Virginia: The Keith Albee Theater
Back in the early 80s, when I was only about five-years-old, my parents were attending a weekend convention in the city of Huntington, WV. Several of our friends and family were doing the same. We were about two hours away from our hometown, so the adults had grabbed some hotel rooms then we split up: The women went shopping while the dads took us kids to see a movie that was showing in town.

Reed Alexander's Horror Review of 'Us' (2019)
Jordan Peele is hands down the new Master of Horror and I can't wait to see his take on The Twilight Zone when it airs. I should mention, I'm easily bored by home invasion movies. Regardless of the sociopolitical undertones of movie like The Purge, or the feminist undertones of Hush, I simply couldn't get into the stories. Home invasion always smacks of silly upper-class privileged fear mongering, regardless of how it was spun. So, regardless of the fact, there's clearly some kind of supernatural overtone to this movie, I was still worried it was gonna be just another home invasion movie. There has also been a huge hype machine behind Jordan Peele since Get Out and I was worried this couldn't live up to the expectations.

The Curse of Rebecca Walker
Rebecca Walker became submerged in water with a lid over her. No one helped her. She woke up on the first day of summer vacation. Like most teenagers her age, she was ready to cause havoc around town with her besties until school started again. It's too bad that her parents didn't see her as quite the teenager she thought she was. Her mom and dad walked in her room to remind her to pack for summer camp. Either Rebecca completely forgot about that or her parents just didn't tell her that she was enrolled in summer camp. She had no plans of going to that lame summer camp while her friends would be nowhere in sight. Rebecca was 15 years old and her birthday was coming up in July. Her parents explained to her that the camp was a two month program that began on the 19th of June.

'Piercing'—Netflix (Spoilers)
Piercing is a film by Nicolas Pasce, from the novel by Ryû Murakami. A young, married man, Reed (Christopher Abbot) fantasizes about killing a prostitute. He has a beautiful young wife, Mona (Laia Costa—as an aside, she is mesmerizing in Las Pequeńas Cosas, a brilliant little short film) and a baby.

The Witches
I came from a small town down south, my parents got divorced and my mother wanted to move back to her hometown. I was given the choice to either stay with my aunt or move across the country with my mother. I wanted change myself, so I packed my stuff and went with my mom to upstate New York. My mother told me that she bought a house with a huge backyard and my room had its own bathroom. I was more than excited to start my new life, I was going to be a junior in high school, high school for me in my own town was hell. I was made fun of because I looked like boy. I had a buzz cut, flat chest, and weighed maybe a hundred pounds soaking wet. I a lesbian and nobody wanted anything to do with me. I was called names like freak, fag, monster, and my absolute favorite chick that wants a dick. I hated the kids in my school, they tormented me. I was beaten up by boys, had my pants pulled down to see “what I was.”

The Day That Haunts My Dreams
There is this nightmare that I haven't had in years but still remember so clearly. I enter this house, it looks so familiar, but I don't recognize it. To my left is the kitchen, I take a quick peek because I hear something, in the center of the kitchen on the floor is an egg bouncing up and down but it's not breaking.

'Us': Movie Review
With his breakout success in 2017, Get Out director rolls out yet another ambitious film. Quickly joining the ranks of select filmmakers that can sell out theatres based on their name, there is a connotation and expectation now that comes with the tagline “A Jordan Peele film.”

'Get Out' (2017): A Fanboy Reflects
SPOILERS for those that haven't seen the film. I’m not a horror fan. As a student of film, I am of course aware of the tropes and have watched a few horror films in the past. But, to be honest, I’m too much of a coward to watch most. I assumed Get Out would be a similar situation. That proved, however, to not be the case.
